Wicked Weed Brewing Milk & Cookies Imperial Stout

I kept seeing an advertisement for Milk & Cookies on YouTube. So I saw Milk & Cookies at my local grocery store and bought a pack. Great advertisement. It made to want to buy some. This Imperial Stout is from Wicked Weed Brewery in Asheville, North Carolina. It weighs 8.7% ABV and has golden raisins, cinnamon, and vanilla. I love to have a glass of milk with way cookies. Dunking the cookie in the milk is the best. This big stout pours black with a tan/beige three- finger steady head. The aroma is of oatmeal, and cinnamon/vanilla sweetness. The taste is oatmeal, sweet with cinnamon and vanilla, with a light bitterness. Then this beer finishes with a sweetness, like milk that has cookie crumbs from dunking. Then the aftertaste is dark and sweet. This beer is surprisingly light for a beer that is 8.7% ABV, but it is not lightweight either. It’s good too. I give Milk & Cookies a B. It’s not too heavy, and it’s not too light either. But it doesn’t have a big milk flavor. It has some vanilla but not enough to make it take like milk. But it was still a good beer. I think you should try this Milk & Cookies. Please be kind, stay safe, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Cerveja Musa Born in the IPA

In my last post I said that Eye of The Lager was the last of the Musa beers I had. I was wrong. I was searching in my beer refrigerator and found Born in the IPA from Ceveja Musa. This IPA weighs in at 6.5% and has Citra, Mosaic, Summit, and Warrior hop. This IPA pours a yellow color with a two-finger white head. The aroma is citrus, orange, grassy, and bitter. Smells decent. The flavor is also orange, citrusy, malty, and bitter. The mouthfeel is between light and medium. Then it comes to a bitter orangey finish with a good amount of bitterness. Then comes a bitter citrusy malt aftertaste. This beer is probably the best Musa beer out of all. I give Born in the IPA a B. It was a good IPA with a decent/good IPA flavor. Not too much and not overwhelming either. I would have this Born in the IPA again. I hope that can happen. Please be kind, stay safe, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Cerveja Musa Eye of the Lager

This beer is the last beer I have from Cerveja Musa. This beer is Eye of the Lager, which weighs in at 4.5% ABV. This beer is a Pale Lager. There are Traditional and Spalter Select hop in this beer. This Pale Lager pours a yellow color with a one-and-a-half finger white head. The aroma is spiced, breaded, and floral. The taste is clean, hoppy, and spiced, and you’ll find some bread notes. This beer’s mouthfeel is light. Then comes a finish of light hops and bread notes. Then you get an aftertaste that is even lighter on the hop flavor with a hint of spiced bread. This beer was better than I was expecting. But it didn’t really wow me. I give Eye of the Lager a B-. I found this one from Musa to be better than the previous beers I’ve had from them. The 4.6% ABV helped this beer, and it didn’t have as mild flavors, but they weren’t as bold and flavorful as some lagers I’ve had. I recommend Eye of the Lager if you find it here in the States. I don’t think it comes to the US. Please be kind, stay safe, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Wicked Weed Brewing Dr. Dank Jack Frost Double IPA

Dr. Dank Jack Frost is a Double IPA from Wicked Weed Brewing. This beer is winter and double version of Wicked Weed’s Dr; Dank IPA. This beer comes to us from Asheville, North Carolina, and weighs in at 8% ABV. This beer pours an orange color with a two-finger steady white head. The aroma is dank, citrusy orange, piney, and bitter. I have had a few winter IPAs, and they tend to have some pine flavors. I guess the pine tree is a symbol of winter. That’s what a Christmas tree is. The beer flavor of this beer is an orange citrus fruit, piney, bitter, and hoppy. This beer has a fuller mouthfeel. Then this beer finish with a honey flavor that is slightly orange. The aftertaste is piney with less orange honey. This beer does not quite taste as big as you think it would. It’s good, and I give it an A. The pine flavor on this is there but does smack you in the face with flavor. It has just enough to let you know the pine flavor is there. I do recommend this one if you like Double IPAs. Please be kind, stay safe, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Cerveja Musa Frank APA

Here is another beer from Cerveja Musa in Lisbon, Portugal. This beer is Frank APA and American Pale Ale. This beer weighs in at 5% ABV. That is a lower than most Pale Ale I’ve had here. But that can be good because sometimes you might want a lower-ABV Pale Ale. This beer uses Citra, and Mosaic hops. This beer pours a yellow-gold color with a one-finger sheet of white head. The aroma is citrusy orange, hoppy and vegetal. The taste is orange, vegetal, hoppy, light, and somewhat thin. The mouthfeel is light. Then this beer finishes with a hoppy and vegetal flavor. The aftertaste is bitter and hoppy but lasts for a couple of seconds before a light Pilsner taste hits for just a second. The beer had light, hoppy bitterness that was drinkable and pleasant. I would say that Frank APA is a C+. The hoppy flavoring was good, and it propped it up a bit. I would almost go back to this, but that won’t be easy because, this beer not sold in the States. But I also would not rush out for this. It wasn’t the worst. It was kind of delicious . Please be kind, stay safe, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Cerveja Musa Saison O’Connor

From Lisbon, Portugal, Saison O’Conner is a Farmhouse Saison-style beer from Cerveja Musa. It weighs in at 5.8% ABV, which is lower than most Saisons. Musa gives their beer puns names like ”Saison O’Conner. I got this beer though a past exchange student who came back to visit over the Thanksgiving holiday. Musa is not imported into the US, as far as I know. I have more from Musa still yet to review. Those will be up soon. This Saison pours an orange color and a finger white fizzy head. The aroma is bitter, dry, and yeasty. The taste has a little orange dry flavor with bitterness and some light spices. The mouthfeel is medium with a little extra carbonation. Then this Saison finishes dry and a little yeasty. Then you get a dry bitter aftertaste that dances on the tongue for just a few seconds before fading away. I have had better Saison, but this is not too bad. Saison O’Conner gets a C. It’s average for a Saison beer. Nothing stands out, and nothing is terrible. I would recommend this. The bitterness is not strong. It is just enough bitterness. I thought that was an interesting flavor for a Saison. This beer is easy to drink for the Saison style. Please be kind, stay safe, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Sugar Creek Brewing Company Sugar Cookie

This beer, Sugar Cookie, is a Sugar Cookie-inspired Blonde Ale from Sugar Creek Brewing Company. This Christmas Blonde ale is from Charlotte, North Carolina. It weighs in at 8% ABV. I believe this beer is a seasonal-only offering. This beer pours a golden color with two fingers’ white heads. The head fades steadily into a thin halo of bubbles. The aroma is sweet with spices/sugar. The flavor is not far off from its smell. There is sweetness, sugar creaminess, and spices, and its had a smooth overall flavor. Then it comes to a sugar cookie finish. Yes, that is right, it passes over your tongue, and it all comes together and tastes like a sugar cookie. The aftertaste is like eating a delicious sugar cookie that lingers until the next sip. This Sugar Creek Brewing Company Sugar Cookie is an A. I thoroughly enjoyed this beer and would recommend you do the same. It is not heavy and has a nice holiday touch without weighing you down. It’s good throughout an entire pint. I would surely go back to it for this beer. Please be kind, stay safe, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Divine Barrel Brewing We’re Out of Peanut Butter, Frank

I’ve not had a lot of beers from Divine Barrell Brewing, located here in Charlotte, North Carolina. I have had a few here and there. I haven’t had enough to know if I like Divine Barrell. This beer is We’re Out of Peanut Butter, Frank. This beer is an American Porter with peanut butter. It comes in at 6.8% ABV. This Porter pours black with a three-finger beige/tan sticky head. The aroma is peanut butter, sweetness, and toasted/roasted notes. The flavor is of a sweet roasted/toasted peanut butter and light bitterness towards the back of the tongue. This Porter finishes with a slight bitter-toasted peanut butter flavor. Then you get a light peanut butter aftertaste. This beer is not like a peanut butter cup. Overall it is more like a toasted peanut butter candy bar. We’re Out of Peanut Butter, Frank is not terrible. You get the peanut butter, but everything else is just average. I give this American Porter a C+. It’s a fine peanut butter-flavored Porter, but that’s all. That aspect is not bad. If you see this beer don’t pass it up. But I wouldn’t go out just for We’re Out of Peanut Butter, Frank. Please be kind, stay safe and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Fonta Flora Mimosa City Mimosa-Style White Ale

This white ale called Mimosa City, fermented with fresh orange, aged on Earl Gray Tea and Coriander. This beer also uses local well water at 88% local ingredients. This beer is from Fonta Flora Brewery in Nebo, North Carolina. In a previous Fonta Flora review, I said that Fonta Flora beer review that this brewery’s beer is either a hit or miss. This beer pours a yellow with a steady two-finger white head. The aroma of this beer is semi-sweet, orange, and coriander. The taste is light sweetness, orange fruit, coriander, and Earl Gray Tea. Towards the back of the tongue is an off-flavor like burnt salt. The mouthfeel is light. Then this beer comes with a bitter tea taste in the finish. The aftertaste is like a white ale that has gone off or has turned. The overall flavor of this is not good. The coriander and orange clash with the Earl Gray tea. This beer is not good. I could not finishes all sixteen ounces. I give this Mimosa City a D-. I think you should not drink this. I don’t recommend this beer. Fonta Flora Brewery beers are either a hit or a miss. Please be kind, stay safe, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Heist Brewery Dollar Dollar Bill Y’all Dreamsicle-Inspired India pale ale

This beer, Dollar Dollar Bill Y’all, is a lyric in a Wu-Tang Clan rap song titled C.R.E.A.M. This beer is a dreamsicle-inspired IPA from Heist Brewery here in Charlotte, North Carolina. This beer comes in a 7% ABV. This beer has tangerine, orange, toasted marshmallow, and vanilla. This beer pours a bright yellow with floating particulate/ingredients and a two-and-a-half finger cream marshmallow white head. The aroma is sweet and creamy. There is vanilla, orange, tangerine, and a little marshmallow on the nose. The taste is creamy with sweet vanilla, orange/tangerine citrusy goodness. There was also a toasted marshmallow. The mouthfeel is medium feel and creamy. This beer does taste like an orange creamsicle. Then this beer has a nice creamy sweet fruity vanilla finish. Then comes an aftertaste like biting into a delicious orange vanilla popsicle. That aftertaste lingers nicely on the tongue. This IPA was fabulously delicious. I give this an A+. I highly recommend it. It was as advertised on the side of the can. All the flavors came together just perfectly for a great beer. Please be kind, stay safe, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!
