Bhramari Brewing Co. When Will Then Be Now, 5.3% ABV is a Berliner Wiesse that utilizes ruby chocolate, Cara Cara (a red-fleshed navel orange), and blood orange. This beer pours a muddy yellow/orange color with a one-finger white fizzy head. This beer has a sweet chocolate orange aroma to it with tartness. The flavor/taste is not far off from its smell. There is a s\chocolate orange taste with a funky tartness. The mouthfeel is light. This beer finishes with a sweet chocolate orange tartness. The aftertaste is the same as the finish, but the tartness is fuller. It all lingers till you have another sip. This beer is interesting to me. It has a good flavor. I say it’s a C+. The chocolate clashes a little with the tart fruity flavors but nothing terrible here. This beer isn’t one that you can more than probably two pints of before it becomes too much. NoDa Brewing Company Fusion Series Vol. II Imperial Hazy IPA with Grapefruit

I was gifted this beer for my birthday, NoDa Brewing Fusion Series Vol. II Imperial Hazy IPA with grapefruit, 9.4% is part of a series, the first being Vol. I was with tangerine. This imperial IPA is with Centennial, Galaxy, Ekuanot, Cascade, and Azacca hops. It’s rested on grapefruit zest. This local IPA pours a bright hazy yellow with a two-finger fizzy off-white head. The aroma is citrusy with grapefruit, hoppy bitter notes. It has a citrusy grapefruit bitter hoppy flavor with pine notes. It has a thick mouthfeel. This IPA is a full-bodied imperial IPA. It has a bitter citrus finish, and that carries over to the aftertaste. That aftertaste is bitter and juicy. It lingers for a while. This beer is a big IPA and strong as well. NoDa Brewing Fusion Series Vol. II Imperial Hazy IPA with grapefruit is a B. It is bold and strong with a big juicy citrus flavor. I couldn’t see myself having more than one of these. Your tastebuds would get destroyed by the end of the second beer. But one was good. If you like this type of beer, then here’s a beer with your name on it. I’d try it. This beer is a raspberry version of Field Party Blond Ale. I have reviewed that two days ago. This beer pours a light red color that almost looks amber with a one-finger pink fizzy head. The aroma is sweet with a raspberry flavor. The taste follows the nose. It has a nice, light sweetness from the raspberry flavor with a tiny beardy note. The mouthfeel is light. This Blonde Ale finishes with a raspberry flavor that is not very overpowering. The aftertaste of raspberry doesn’t stick around long. It is there just long of for your taste buds to notice it’s there. Then it is gone. I found Georgia Beer Co. Raspberry Field Party Blonde Ale to be a little better than the not fruited Field Party. I give this beer a B+. The raspberries were refreshing. This Blonde Ale is a good beer for a hot summer’s day. A pool/beach beer for sure. So go out and try this Georgia Beer Co. Elysian Brewing Company Superfuzz Blood Orange Pale

Elysian Brewing Company Superfuzz Blood Orange Pale, 6.4% ABV, brewed in Seattle, Washington. This Pale Ale is Bittered with German Northern Brewer and Cascade hops and finished with Citra and Amarillo. Superfuzz pours a cloudy gold, light orange color with a one-finger white head that is somewhat slow fading. The aroma is sweet with orange and hints of bitterness. Taste is not as sweet as you get on its aroma, that is some slight bitter orange tartness with little bitterness. The mouthfeel is light but not too light. Superfuzz then give a blood orange fish with a little bit of bittiness and light sweet notes that do carry over into the aftertaste that lingers for a little bit. , 6.4% ABV, brewed in Seattle, Washington. Elysian Brewing Company Superfuzz Blood Orange Pale is a good beer, one that I would give a B to. The blood orange is there, but not a strong or bold flavor. There is enough of it so you know it’s there. I wouldn’t say it’s a punch-in-the-face type of flavor. Plus it’s not overly bitter for a Pale Ale. I do recommend trying this. It’s good for a hot day. NoDa Brewing Company Margarita Gose

NoDa Brewing Company Margarita Gose 4% ABV brewed right here in Charlotte, North Carolina is a Gose-style kettled sour fermented with lime juice, tangerine purée, and also is added at the end of the boil. This is all done to mimic the flavors in a margarita. Margarita Gose pours a straw gold color with one finger quickly fading fizzy head. The beer’s aroma is tart, crisp with salted lime and tangerine. The taste is pretty much similar to the nose, there is a tart lime and tangerine with a bit of a salt note. The mouthfeel is light, This beer has a fruity finish that is a bit sour and tart. That flavor does carry over to the aftertaste that lingers a bit with a tart salt note, Does NoDa Brewing Company Margarita Gose taste like a Margarita? Well for the most part yes, but just a lighter version. That does not mean this Gose is bad. No, it’s not, I give NoDa Brewing Company Margarita Gose an A. It does not overpower your tastebuds with tartness or fruity flavors. It’s good, especially on a hot day. it’s refreshing and tasty. I highly recommended NoDa Brewing Company Margarita Gose. Edmund’s Oast Brewing Company Basket of Flowers

Edmund’s Oast Brewing Company Basket of Flowers, 5% ABV is Belgian style wheat brewed in Charleston, South Carolina with oranges and rosebuds. This beer sounded like it would be interesting, so I picked up a four-pack. This beer pours a bright yellow cloudy color with a one and a quarter white head that fades steadily. The nose is floral with orange sweetness There is a bitter tart note in there as well that gives off slight pale ale vibes. The flavor is sweet with some tart orange floral notes with a bit of wheat. Yes, I did get a bit of bitterness, but not as pronounced as it is on the nose. This Edmund’s Oast beer finish with a hit of a hoppy note but sweet. The aftertaste is orange and floral with a final bitter tart note. This is not as exciting as I thought it was going to be. It was trying to go somewhere with the flavor but got lost on the way. I give Edmund’s Oast Brewing Company Basket of Flowers a low C-. The bit of bitterness I found was a surprise but not in a good way and it clashing a bit with the floral notes kind of hold it back. I wouldn’t recommend Edmund’s Oast Brewing Company Basket of Flowers. But I do find Edmund’s Oast Brewing Company to brew good beers not this one though. Wilmington Brewing Company Tropical Frightening

I am a sucker for blood orange. So when I saw Wilmington Brewing Company Tropical Frightening, 10% ABV, I had to get it. This is an imperial IPA with blood orange and raspberries. This big IPA pours a reddish blood orange color with a two-finger white head with great retention. It has a nice fruity sweetness from the blood orange faint raspberry. There is a little bitter hoppy note on the aroma too. The taste is sweet with blood orange and light raspberry. I also found a lithe bitter hoppy flavor that was masked by the fruity flavors, but it is there. The fruit flavors are on the thinker side but the mouthfeel has a medium fruity feel to it. Topical Frightening finishes with a fruity touch of blood orangey raspberry with a hint of bitterness. The aftertaste is blood orange sweet with bits of faint hop bitterness. I feel that the blood orange does give it a bittersweet flavor, and the raspberry keeps that from becoming too bitter and gives the sweetness a slight boost. Overall I liked Wilmington Brewing company Tropical Frightening, and I give it an A-. The label said raspberry and I got just a tiny bit. That is the only gripe I have with this imperial IPA. Hi-Wire Brewing Co. Lemon Drop Session Sour Ale

Session beers can be a nice change of pace from the bigger more alcoholic beer. A seen beer is a beer that is lower than 4% or 4.5% ABV and has a mild flavor. These are a sub-style of beer that you can have a few or more of without wrecking your taste buds or become too drunk. Hi-Wire Brewing Co. Lemon Drop Session Sour Ale, 4.2% ABV is one example. It is an early spring seasonal and part of a series of three sour session ales. This ale is brewed with lemon, ginger, and rosemary. Lemon Drop pours a light thin yellow color with a thin fizzy white head that is gone in a blink of an eye. It has a nice citrus lemon aroma with light ginger and the faintest of rosemary. Taste is big on the lemon tart/sour flavor with a little follow-up of ginger and not much or any rosemary. The mouthfeel is light and refreshing. You get a nice tart lemon ginger finish that carries on to the aftertaste with a little more tart flavor. This is a good warm spring drinking beer. I enjoyed it, and I say it’s an A-. It just needs a dash of ginger to make it perfect. I highly recommend Hi-Wire Brewing Co. Lemon Drop Session Sour Ale to drink. It did not disappoint my taste buds. Founders Brewing Barrel Aged Más Agave

I was down in South Carolina where they have an ACTUAL liquor store and I saw Founders Brewing Barrel-Aged Más Agave, 10% ABV. I picked up a four-pack of the lime variant. Más Agave is an imperial lime Gose beer aged in Tequila barrels. This beer pours a deep rich orange with a two-finger fast dissolving white head. It gives off sweet & tart aromas of lime citrus fruit with a strong alcoholic note. Taste is a bit similar to the way its aroma hits. You’ll find a bit of a tart & sweet lime with a boozy tequila barrel and hints of citrus lime. This beer doesn’t taste like it’s 10% but not far off. The mouthfeel is on the higher side of a medium feel. Más Agave finishes with a boozy citrus lime tartness and has a tart alcoholic limey aftertaste. This is much like a margarita but in beer from and only the second time I’ve had a beer like this, the first being Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. Trip into the Woods Otra Vez. Which I think is better than Founders Brewing Barrel-Aged Más Agave, which I B. It has a good tart fruity flavor but the barrel brings out the boozy alcohol that doesn’t make you want to have more that one and a half of these. But I do recommend trying Founders Brewing Barrel-Aged Más Agave. Please stay safe and enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Ass Clown Brewing Company Orange Citrus IPA

Purchased from Total Wine, Ass Clown Brewing Company Orange Citrus IPA, 6.7% is brewed in Cornelius, North Carolina. It is also triple hopped with Citra, and brewed with orange peels. This beer pours a cloudy orange color with a thick tree finger cream looking white head. The nose is juicy with citrus fruit like oranges, and orange peels. There is a decently bitter and hoppy smell to it as well. That same aroma carries itself into the taste. I found orange and orange peels. There is a bitter hoppy flavor as well, with a thicker mouthfeel. This IPA has a bittersweet orange finish and a lingering bittersweet citrus fruit aftertaste. This beer is a big bitter orange. I give Ass Clown Brewing Company Orange Citrus IPA a B-. I found this to have just a little too much orange flavor to it, but it was not the worst orange IPA I’ve had.
