Brouwerij Van Steenberge Augustijn Blonde

Finding this was the best! I found a mixed six-pack of Brouwerij Van Steenberge beers. It has six of each.I found it at Reeds Fine Food here in South Park. This brewery is in Evergem, Belgium. This beer is Augustijn Blonde. It comes in a 7.0% ABV. Augustijn Blonde pours an amber blonde with a two-finger white head. The head slowly fades away. The aroma is fruity, strong, and malty from the grains. This ale has some hoppy notes. The flavor is lightly sweet, fruity, and malted (the same grains). There is a vanilla flavor and some light hops. The mouthfeel is medium. Then this blonde finishes with a light, malted fruit flavor. Then you get an aftertaste of slightly sweet malts and a light, hoppy flavor. This ale is a very delicious Belgian Blonde ale. I give this an A+. I would not pass this one. I highly recommend it. It’s just a good and balanced Belgian blonde. It is refreshing and full of great flavor. I will bring you more from the Brouwerij Van Steenberge mixed six-pack, so stay tuned here! Please stay safe, always be kind to everyone, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Maine Beer Company Mo Pale Ale

Any beer from Maine Maine Beer Company is not easy to find. But if you keep your eyes peeled and you might see one somewhere. I saw this at my local fresh pasta shop, Pasta and Provisions. This beer is Mo Pale Ale, which comes in at 6%. ABV. This beer is made in Freeport, Maine. This pale ale uses Falconer’s Flight and Simcoe hops. This beer also uses American 2-Row, Carapils, Caramel 40L, and Red Wheat. This ale is brewed occasionally, according to The Maine Beer Company. This beer pours a deeper golden color with a two-finger white head. The beer’s aroma is oranges, orange peel, tangerines, and bitter. The flavor is hoppy, fruity with tangerine, oranges, orange peel, apricots, bitte notes, and dry. The mouthfeel is light/medium. Then this pale ale finishes with a dry bitter/hop note that is slightly fruity. Then you get an aftertaste that is fruity, dry, and bitter. This beer was good, just as the lady at the register said it was. I give Mo Pale Ale a B+. It was delicious. It was not too IPA like some craft pale ales sometimes can be. It has just enough fruity notes, with the right amount of bitt/hop notes. I highly recommend this Mo Pale Ale. Please stay safe, be kind to everyone, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Stone Brewing Delicious Citrus IPA

In the craft beer world, you don’t see a mixed six-pack unless it’s a build-your-own. I was in the local grocery store yesterday, was perusing the beer ale, and saw a mixed six-pack of different Sonte Brewing Delicious IPA. This beer is Delicious Citrus IPA that comes in at 7.7% ABV. This beer has Amarillo, Talus, and El Dorado hops. This IPA also has ingredients such as sweet orange peel and reduced gluten. This citrus IPA pours a medium gold color with a two-finger white head. The aroma is bitter, juicy, citrus orange, and grapefruit. The flavor is juicy, grapefruit, orange, orange peel, bittersweet, and has a hoppy zing. The mouthfeel is light. Then you get an aftertaste that is citrusy, fruity, and bittersweet. Then comes an aftertaste of hoppy, juicy fruits. This beer is a great Citrus IPA. This Delicious Citrus IPA is a high B+, barely missing an A-. It has all the right/delicious citrus flavors. It almost doesn’t taste as high as 7.7% ABV. I recommend this IPA. Please stay safe, be kind to everyone, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Elysian Brewing Company Night Owl Pumpkin Ale

This beer was the last beer from a twenty-four mix pack I received as a Christmas gift. This beer is Night Owl Pumpkin Ale from Elysian Brewing Company out of Seattle, Washington. This pumpkin ale comes in at 6.7% ABV. It uses pumpkin, raw and roasted pumpkin seeds. It also has conditioning spiced with nutmeg, clove ginger, and allspice. I am not a fan of pumpkin ale, let alone anything pumpkin/pumpkin spiced flavored. I think it’s overrated. But I’m going to review this pumpkin beer anyway. This ale pours a deep orange color with a one-and-a-half off-white head. The head does not stick around for long. The aroma is pumpkin/pumpkin spice, big cinnamon aroma, and light gram cracker. The taste is also cinnamon. It has lots of cinnamon. There is allspice, clove, and pumpkin/pumpkin spice. The mouthfeel is medium. Then this beer finishes with a cinnamon, clove, and allspice flavor. Then comes the aftertaste of light cinnamon and allspice that does linger around. Night Owl Pumpkin Ale was not gross and wasn’t good. So I give this Night Owl from Elysian Brewing Company a D. If you like this kind of beer, you should try it. But I tend to stay away from pumpkin beers. Please stay safe, be kind to everyone, and enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Birdsong Brewing Co. & Triple C Brewing Three Little Birds Rice Lager

Three Little Birds Rice Lager is a collaboration between two local Charlotte breweries, Birdsong Brewing CO. & Triple C Brewing. This rice lager is 4.4% ABV. This beer uses new and old-world hops as well as flaked rice. This lager pours a golden yellow with a rocky and sticky one-finger white head. The aroma is dry, sweet, crisp, and light. The flavor is sweet, crisp, dry, Cucumber. The mouthfeel is light. The finish is dry with a cucumber flavor. Then comes an aftertaste of dry cucumber and light hops. This beer is a good beer that is not overly dry for a rice lager. They (rice lagers) tend to be drier. This beer has a refreshing crisp overall flavor that I recommend trying. I give Three Little Birds Rice Lager an A-. The dryness keeps it down a notch. But it’s an otherwise good beer. Please stay safe, always be kind, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

10 Barrel Brewing Co. Crush Raspberry Sour

This beer is Crush Raspberry Sour from 10 Barrel Brewing Co. in Bend, Oregon. This beer is 6.5% ABV and year-round. This beer has real raspberries. This sour ale pours a pinkish/red color with a one-and-a-half white head. The aroma is sweet, tart, sour, and fruity (raspberry). The taste is tart, sour, raspberry, and sweet. The mouthfeel is light and refreshing. Then this beer finishes with a sour and tart raspberry fruity flavor. There is a tart fruity aftertaste with a hint of sour sweetness. This beer is good, and I think it’s a high C+. It has a nice tart raspberry sour flavor. I would recommend this one. It is refreshing and not so sour that it is enjoyable. But I will say I have had better raspberry sours, but this is still good. Stay safe, be kind always, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

NoDa Brewing Company Cool AF Cold India Pale Ale

Cold IPAs are a relatively new style of beer or sub-style of IPAs. This Cold IPA Cool AF is a relatively new IPA Rotator from NoDa Brewing Company in Charlotte, North Carolina. This beer is 6.4% ABV. This IPA has Galaxy, Mosaic, Simcor, Chinook, and Centennial hops. A cold IPA is fermented at lower-than-normal temperatures than usual for an IPA. A Cold IPA has with Lager Yeast. This beer pours a hazy yellow with a thick rocky two-finger white head. The aroma is piney, fruity, tropical, and bitter. The flavor is piney, bitter, crisp, and fruity. The mouthfeel is medium. Then this Cold IPA finishes with a piney bitterness. Then you get an aftertaste of bitterness with hints of piney flavor fruit. This IPA is not a terrible beer. This beer is the first Cold IPA I’ve had. So I’d say NoDa Brewing Company Cool AF is a C+. Towards the aftertaste, it clashes with the lager yeast flavors, and I didn’t find that great. I am also over the whole craft beer industry is making IPA and IPA sub-styles. There are other styles out there to experiment with. This Cool AF Cold IPA was not terrible I would recommend this beer. Please stay safe, be kind always, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Sugar Creek Brewing Company Unlimited Juicy East Coast India Pale Ale

This beer Unlimited Juice from Sugar Creek Brewing Company, is a new seasonal beer for the Charlotte, North Carolina-based brewery. It is a slight departure from their Belgian beers. This IPA is 6.5% ABV. I saw this beer on the brewery’s Instagram, then a few weeks later, it showed up at my local grocery store. This beer has IPA Cascade, Citra, and Simcoe hops. This beer pours a hazy/cloudy yellow color with a two-finger fluffy white head. The aroma is juicy tropical and citrus fruits with a bitter note. The flavor is juicy with orange, pineapple, melon, and bitter notes. It has a good balance of fruits and bitterness. There is a yeasty and light creamy taste too. The mouthfeel is medium. Kona Brewing Co. Longboard Island Lager

This Lager is another beer from Kona Brewing Co. in Hawaii. This bar is Longboard Island Lager. It is a flagship beer from Kona Brewing Co. This lager is 4.6% ABV. This island lager has Pale(premium 2-row) malts, Mt. Hood, Halletrau, Sterling, and Millennium hops. This beer pours a yellow/gold color with a one-finger white fluffy head. The aroma is crisp sweetness, bread (biscuits), and a light hop note. The flavor is smooth, crisp, sweet, a little hoppy, and a bit of bread. The mouthfeel is light. Then this island lager comes to a nice clean, crisp, smooth sweet finish. The aftertaste is semi-sweet with a nice crispness. This beer is a good beer and one that is widely available. I see it in grocery stores, beer/wine stores, and bars/restaurants. I give Longboard Island Lager a B+. It has a great flavor that isn’t strong or weak. It’s just a good solid beer, nothing stands out, and nothing terrible. This beer is great for a nice hot sunny day at the beach or wherever you enjoy beer. I recommended this one. Please stay safe, always be kind, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Four Peaks Brewing Co. Kilt Lifer Scottish-Style Amber Ale

This beer Kilt Lifter is a Scottish-style Amber Ale from Four Peaks Brewing Co. in Tempe, Arizona. It comes in at 6.0% ABV. This ale is a flagship beer for Four Peaks. This beer pours an amber-brown color with a one-and-a-half finger beige head. The aroma is sweet, caramel, malty, and a little toasted note. The flavor is sweet with caramel, malty notes, and smooth. The mouthfeel is higher on the medium feel. Then this beer finishes with a malted caramel flavor. Then you’ll get an aftertaste of light caramel malts. This beer is good, but I am not a big fan of this Scottish-style beer. I give this Kilt Lifter barely a B-. This beer has good malted caravan flavors. Scottish-style ales like this are trying to be light and heavy beer. Something that clashes, and the beer is just okay or even terrible. If I want a dark beer without being too dark, I’ll go for a good brown ale, like Birdsong Lazy Bird Brown. I would recommend this beer if you like this style of beer. Please stay safe, be kind, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!
