The Beer News

For the foreseeable future, Best Beer Blog will not be posted The Beer News. Most bars, breweries, and restaurants are closed but if they have curbside service plus take full advantage and support local businesses. But most of all stay at home when and only go when absolutely necessary, please wash your hands thoroughly and practice social distancing. However, I will be posting regular beer reviews so check those out and enjoy them. Please stay safe and drink responsibly! Cheers!

A rich, velvety body and smooth warmth from the alcohol combine to make this great sipper that will age gracefully for as long as you can resist popping the cap. Barleywine is life! Don’t let your eyes deceive you! While dark in hue, Shadow Puppets is a far cry from the boozy, sweet pastry stouts that have come to dominate the dark beer landscape in recent years. Nearly extinct 20 years ago, this beer style was rescued from obscurity by American craft beer bars and brewers who worshipped its weird, funky flavors. Our seasonal “Early Bock” combines a slight malty sweetness with a refreshing touch of citrus aroma from its noble Bavarian hops. The result is an amazingly fresh, crisp beer that masks a higher alcohol content in its smooth character. Big bodied and warm enough for chilly evenings, but bright and aroma-hop forward enough to compliment beers on the patio.

Like all OMB beers, Früh Bock is all-natural — brewed in strict accordance with the famous German beer purity law of 1516: the “Reinheitsgebot.” In line with Reinheitsgebot, it was brewed using natural carbonation from the pure CO2 produced by the yeast during fermentation. We pull our brews from our lager tanks weekly, so you know it’s fresh. And, it was kept cold from production to delivery to you, because all beer should be kept cold to maximize freshness. We hope you enjoy this pure, fresh, cold beer. Prost!

Under 21 welcome at OMB. Pets welcome outside in our Biergarten.

Apricots lend this beer a vibrant golden orange color and aromas of peach cobbler and preserves. The fruitiness of the nose is accompanied by undertones of wet oak along with a touch of barnyard and earthy funk.

  • Saturday, January 18th. Other Half Collab Can Release. Resident Culture Brewing Company. 12 pm-6 pm. A few weeks ago, we had the honor of hosting our friends at Other Half Brewing Company from Brooklyn for a double brew day.

We’re celebrating these beautiful beers being ready with a bottle share patio party to kick things off, and Other Half Tap Takeover hitting the taproom, and releasing 4x new cans (2x OH collab cans).

  • Saturday, January 18th. Picobath: Yes Ma’am Brett IPA. Thirsty Nomad. 1 pm-10 pm. A fruit-forward, dry, and moderately bitter IPA. Brett IPAs predate and presage the juicy craze and stand out like a signpost on the road to more flavorful hop-forward beers. Fermented in a barrel, this was a fun experiment that we’ll likely never do again. All things must pass.

As most of our experiments, quantities are extremely limited and only available at Thirsty Nomad’s taproom. These things go quick, get it while you can!

    > SECOND COMING – Hazy IPA // 6.5% ABV // Dry Hopped with three of the new crazy sexy cool hops: Strata, Sabro, and HBC692. Minty pineapple juice with hints of coconut and mango. A total standout and one of the more unique hop profiles to ever come out of our brewhouse.
    > RE-UP PILS – Kellerpils // 5% ABV // – Hopped with Summer and French Aramis. FYI Kellerpils is an unfiltered lager and is typically not lagered quite as long as others which results in the haze. Crisp and dry with a nice little hop bite.
