New Belgium Voodoo Ranger Juice Force IPA

Juice Force IPA is a Hazy Imperial IPA from New Belgium Brewing. This beer is part of their Voodoo Ranger brand. This beer is 9.5% ABV. This beer is the last of the Voodoo Ranger IPA mix-twelve pack. This beer pours a light orange-hued yellow with a one-finger head of white. The aroma is juicy with citrus, orange, and boozy bitterness. The taste is orange citrus, light grapefruit, and again boozy bitterness. This has a medium mell in the mouth. Then it has a boozy orange finish. The aftertaste is bitter orange and some alcoholic notes. This beer is better than the rest from this mix-pack. But I would call Juice Force IPA great. I barely give this IPA a B-. The orange flavor is good but when it meets the alcoholic flavor it is not as good. I don’t think those two do well together. I would really recommend this, but it’s not terrible. The New Belgium Brewing Voodoo Ranger IPA mixed-pack is not that great. For the entire pack, I would give a D+. I have had much better IPAs. I think these are trying to be more mainstream, which didn’t work. Please stay safe, be kind to each other, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Aslin Beer Co. Power Moves India Pale Ale

This is an IPA from Aslin Beer Co. Washington D.C. This IPA is Power Moves purchased from my local Whole Foods. This IPA is 5.5% ABV. This New England IPA has Chinook, Simcoe, Citra, and Mosaic hops. This IPA pours yellow with a one-finger fizzy white head. The aroma is soft/juicy pineapple and some bitterness. The flavor is juicy pineapple, bitterness and some light melon, This is light on the palate. Then you get a light tropical bitter fruit finish. The aftertaste is bitter but just enough for you to know that it’s there. This Power Moves is good. and I give this a B-. At first, it was average, but the more I drank the better it got, and yeah I recommend this. But I don’t see much of Aslin Beer Co.’s products. Also, I don’t see many New England IPAs with an ABV as low as 5.5%. I think that’s good. I find most to be 6.8% to 7.8% ABV. With that and the flavor not so much, it makes this a good session beer. Please stay safe, be kind to each other, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

New Belgium Brewing Voodoo Ranger Hop Raider IPA

Here is another from the New Belgium Brewing Voodoo Ranger IPA mixed twelve pack. This IPA is Hop Raider IPA. This beer is 8.1% ABV. This beer pours a deep gold color with a two-finger white head. The aroma is malty, bitter, and light with tropical fruits. There is melons, and pineapples amorous. The taste is Pineapple and melon. There is a malty flavor, pine, and bitterness. This IPA comes with a pine, malt, and bitter finish. The aftertaste is a malty pine flavor that lingers a bit. This is okay, not the best. I give Hop Raider IPA a C+. The tropical fruit clashes with the malt and pine flavors. I didn’t like that. But those flavors on their own are not too bad. Would I recommend this? Just barely. I don’t think I would go back to this right away. Please stay safe, be kind to each other, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

New Belgium Brewing Voodoo Ranger Hop Average IPA

A neighbor of mine gave me a mixed twelve-pack of New Belgium Brewing Voodo Ranger IPAs. This one is Hop Avenger IPA. This IPA is 7.7% ABV. Voodo Ranger is a beer line from New Belgium Brewing in Fort Collins, Colorado. This IPA pours a light orange color with a two-finger white head. There is sediment in this beer. I don’t know if that is supposed to be there and if that is bits of fruit. I didn’t find any information. This IPA has a citrus aroma of orange, and grapefruit There is a light pineapple and bitter aromas. The flavor is orange, grapefruit, pineapple, and bitter. This has a medium feeling in the mouth. This IPA has a bitter fruity finish. The aftertaste is bitterness and orange. This is okay. I found this to have a more dominant orange flavor to it. I would say Hop Averager IPA is a C, just barely. The orange clashed a bit with the beer bitterness. I can’t say I would or wouldn’t recommend this. This beer wasn’t terrible nor was it good. Please stay safe, be kind to each other, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Brasserier d’Achouffe NA Chouffee

This is La Chouffe Non-Alcoholic Brew from Achouffe, Belgium. I purchased this thinking it was La Chouffe. I realized that when I put it in the beer refrigerator. I thought I’d give it a try and a review and here I am. This beer is less than 0.5% ABV. This NA beer pours a gold color with a one-and-a-half-finger white head. The head does fade rather quickly. The aroma is sweet, dry, and malty, not much on the nose. The flavor is sweet, dry, watery, and malty. The beer has an overall lightness to it. This feels light in the mouth. This beer finishes light with some malted sweetness. The aftertaste is dry and not much else. I went into this thinking this wouldn’t be good. It was not great, but it was not terrible. I would give this a D+. I wouldn’t recommend this beer, but it is better than some of the NA beers I’ve previously had. Please stay safe, be kind to each other, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Trappistes Rochefort 6 Belgian Ale

This ale pours murky light brown with a two-finger off-white head. The aroma is sweet, dark, and malty. The flavor is sweetened, dark, and malty as well. There also is a light bitterness here. This is an almost medium feeling in the mouth. Then comes a light bittersweet dark finish. The aftertaste is a little sweet and malty but fades as soon as it hits. This Rochefort 6 is good, but I think there are ones better out there. This Dubble gets a C+. I find this ale lacking in some flavors, but they aren’t terrible. This can be a little more flavorful. Please stay safe, be kind to each other, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Edmund’s Oast Brewing Co. And The House Is On Fire Smoked Doppelbock Lager

This beer from Charleston, South Carolina, is a smoked doppelbock lager, . This lager beer is 7.5%. This beer is a strong version of a German Bock beer made by German monks. This beer pours a deep amber color with a two-finger off-white head. The aroma is smokey, dry, and malty. The flavor is dark, smokey, dry, and malty. This has a medium feeling in the mouth. This bock beer comes with a smokey and dry, malt finish. The aftertaste is dark and dry with some smokey notes. This beer is not a big smoke bomb, and it isn’t like inhaling a campfire. But you do get just enough smokey flavor. I give this beer a B. The smoke is light and the overall flavor is good but a bit one-sided. I don’t think this is a beer where you could drink all four in a pack. The smoke would get to be a bit overwhelming. I would recommend And The House Is On Fire. Please stay safe, be kind to each other, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

The flavor is on the light sour side, cherry, and there is tartness. This has a light feel on the mouth. This beer has a tart cherry finish. Light cherry flavors come in the aftertaste with a light tartness. This is very different from a typical beer. But it is enjoyable. I give Kriek Brut from Liefmans an A-. It’s just tart cherry all over this beer. That is why an A-. I really recommend this one. Please stay safe, be kind to each other, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Royal Bliss Brewing Co. Peach Body Fruited Wheat

Peach Body Fruited Wheat from Royal Bliss Brewing Co. is in Denver, North Carolina. This beer has been made to remove gluten. This wheat beer is 4.1% ABV. This beer pours a yellow color with a one-finger thin white head. It quickly dissolves into nothing. This beer has a peachy, wheat, and crispy aroma. The flavor is peach, wheat, light malts, and crisp. This is not a Hefeweizen type of wheat beer. This is more of a pale American wheat. This has a light feeling on the mouth. Then comes a semi-sweet peach finish. The aftertaste is lightly malted with a peach flavor. This is more peach flavor than anything else. I give Peach Body a C-. The peach flavor is good, but everything else about this beer is slightly below average. I don’t think this is a terrible beer. If the peach flavor wasn’t as dominant, then this would be worse. It would not be bad if you had this. Please stay safe, be kind to each other, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Brasserie d’Orval Trappist Ale

This beer started out good, and as I came to the end, it wasn’t as good. I give Orval Trappist Ale a C. I have mixed feelings about this. Some parts of this were okay, and some weren’t. But I think this wasn’t as good as I expected. The flavors didn’t quite come together. There are better examples of Belgian Pale Ale out there. Please stay safe, be kind to each other, and remember to be responsible! Cheers!
