Legal Remedy Brewing Co. Whistleblower Watermelon Wheat

Brewed in Rock Hill, South Carolina, Whistleblower from Legal Remedy Brewing Co, is a 6% watermelon wheat with watermelon purée. Legal Remedy is a courtroom/law/lawyer themed brewery, (https://legalremedybrewing.com). This wheat beer pours yellow with a semi-quick one-finger white head. The aroma is sweet, fruity, and light on watermelon. The flavor is sweet and there is more watermelon than on the aroma. The wheat is light as is the body of this beer. It is fruity and the sweetness makes a vanilla like note as this beer warms. This beer has a light mouthfeel. Then it finishes with a fruity watermelon sweetness that lingersmomentarilyt on the aftertaste. Whistleblower is a decent tasting beer, I give it a C. It is average and the watermelon is lighter than I would have like. But most watermelon flavored things don’t actually taste like real watermelon. This is missing some watermelon flavor. But it isn’t a bad choice, but 21st Amendment Brewing’s Hell or High Watermelon is a much better choice. Please stay safe, be kind to each other , and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Ayinger Privatbrauerei Bräuweisse

We are back after a short break due to unforeseen circumstances. Coming from Aying, Germany, Ayinger Bräuweisse (https://www.ayinger.de/cms/index.php/startpage.html) is a 5.1% ABV top-fermented Bavarian Hefeweizen. This is one of my favorite German breweries. This beer I purchased from Total Wine (totalwine.com). This Hefe pours cloudy golden with a bright white two-finger head. The aroma is yeast, banana, and clove. Smells like a hefeweizen. The flavor is not as heavy as some hefeweizens. That’s good in my opinion. There is a clove and banana with sparkling champagne flavor. This has a medium feel to the mouth. The finish is light on bananas and clove, with a nice sweet aftertaste. This is good, probably the best, and it’s an A+. The fact that it is not as heavy as Franziskaner Hefeweizen, which is a good beer too. But Ayinger is slightly better and a bit lighter on the stomach, and for that, I would go for Ayinger, and so should you! Please stay safe, be kind to each other, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Brewery Ommegang x Leifmans OMG Series Dream Patch

Dream Patch is a Fruited Sour beer from Brewery Ommegang (https://www.ommegang.com) in Copperstown, New York and Leifmans (https://www.liefmans.com/en) in Oudenaarde, Belgium. These two breweries collaborated to make this Sour from Ommegang OMG Series. This beer is 6.5% ABV, with Pilsner and Crystal malts. It also has Belgian sour gurus from Liefmansands Cherry, Blueberry, and Raspberry. This beer is available year round. I purchased this from Total Wine (Totalwine.com). This beer pours a cherry read with a pink-like one-finger head that is gone instantly. The aroma is fruity and tart. There is Cherry and blueberry. I didn’t get much or any blueberry. The flavor is tart with cherry, raspberry and slight blueberry flavor. Overall the tartness is mild as is the fruity flavors. The mouthfeel is light. This beer finishes with a nice tartness of cherries. The raspberries are faint on the finish. The aftertaste is tart but that does fade along with the fruity and some slight yeast notes. This is not in your face sour or tart. Deam Patch is an A. The fact that the blueberries get lost on the flavor held it back from being perfect. I would still recommend this beer. You should drink this! Please stay safe, be kind to each other, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Sierra Nevada Hop Tropical IPA

Hop Tropical IPA from Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. (https://sierranevada.com) is alimited-released IPA with Two-row pale malts, Motueka, and Riwaka hops, and ale yeast. It comes in at 6.5% ABV, and pours gold with a two-finger thick pillowy white head that stays around for a bit. The aroma is of tropical fruits and bitterness. I found som mango, pineapple, and passion fruit. The flavor is hoppy, tropical, and pineapple with a light mouthfeel. Then this IPA finishes with tropical fruits and hoppy notes. The aftertaste is pineapple bitterness. That lingers for a while. This is a great beer and it doesn’t feel as strong as 6.5% ABV. This is a a beer that I would recommend you have. I give it a A+. It is tropcial bitter bliss in a can. You can find this at Total Wine (totalwine.com). Please stay safe, be kind to each other, and remember to enjoy responsibly!

Deep River Brewing Co. & R and R Brewing Co. Pickletown Lager

Pickletown Dill Pickle Lager is a collaboration between Deep River Brewing Co., Clayton, North Carolina, and R and R Brewing Co. in Mt. Olive. That is where Mt. Olive Pickle Company is located. Each pint of Pickletown has fifty pickles. This beer pours greenish gold with a one-finger thin white head. The aroma is light, vegetal, with vinegar and cucumber. The flavor is light, vegetal, and vinegary, with a light pickle/cucumber. Not much pickle flavor on this one. It has a light feeling in the mouth. The beer finishes with a light pickle-like vinegar flavor. The aftertaste is a weak pickle. This beer is not bad for a lager, but it does need more pickle flavor. I think Pickletown lager is a C-. I didn’t mind this beer, but I think Martin House Best Made Pickle Beer is more of a pickle beer. But that beer is a Gose, not a lager like this one. I wouldn’t recommend this beer if you are really into pickles, but it is good if you don’t like them so much. If you want to try Pickletown, you can get it at Total Wine and More (totalwine.com). The pickle flavor on this lager is weak, but it is otherwise okay. Please stay safe, be kind to each other, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Wooden Robot Brewery Goodmorning Vietnam

This Coffee Vanilla Blonde Ale is Good Morning Vietnam from Wooden Robot Brewery here in Charlotte, North Carolina. This is only purchased from the Wooden Robot Brewery (https://woodenrobotbrewery.com) in a 12 ounce 6-pack or a 32 ounce Crowler (can growler). I haven’t seen this for sale anywhere else. This beer has Elderly Coffee Roaster’s Ethiopian coffee, Madagascar vanilla, and oats, then age in a stainless tank. This beer is 5% ABV. This beer pours a deeper/dirty blonde with a two finger semi-quick fading head or white. The aroma is vanilla sweetness, light coffee roast and malts. The flavor is big on vanilla with some coffee mixed in and the malts is barley there. This has light vanilla coffee flavors. The mouthfeel is light. This beer has a malted vanillla roasted finish and a light coffee/vanilla aftertaste that does linger. This is one of my favorite coffee beer or coffee blondes. I give this a A+. Good Morning Vietnam is a beer that I highly recommend. It is good with doughnuts or smilar type sweets/breakfast. It has just the right amount of coffee and vanilla with out a high ABV. You should be drink this beer from Wooden Robot Brewery. Please stay safe, be kind to each other, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Westbrook Brewing Co. Rice Crispy Boi

Rice Crispy Boy from Westbrook Brewing Co. (https://westbrookbrewing.com) is a 5% ABV rice lager with marshmallow vanilla, 2-row, and best Pils malts. It has flaked rice, CTZ, and Saaz hops with lager yeast. This beer pours gold with a two-finger white head. The aroma is big on vanilla sweetness. The flavor is sweet with vanilla and crispness. This has a light mouthfeel. The beer finishes sweet and crisp. The aftertaste is vanilla marshmallow that lingers for a while. I bought a four-pack of pints, and the more I drank, the more it grew on me. I give Rice Crispy Boi a B+. This is an interesting take on a rice lager. I recommend this beer, and you can purchase Southern Spirits in South Carolina (https://www.southernspirits.com). Please stay safe, be kind to each other, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Burial Beer Co. Bohemian Pilsner

Bohemian Pilsner from Burial Beer Co. in Asheville, North Carolina (https://burialbeer.com/?srsltid=AfmBOoqJOrM9CbYCxpAdNizGO9TiC4ofYyJeIzBK9laNMvKWXqztqEa9) is a Czech-inspired Pilsner. This 4.9% ABV Pilsner has Bohemian Pilsner and a touch of Vienna malts. It is hopped with Saaz, HBC-1334, before cold conditioning in lager tanks. This beer pours yellow with a two-finger pillowy white head. This head doesn’t seem to fade and leaves behind beautiful lacing throughout the Pilsner glass. The aroma is sourdough bread, with a light sweetness, and clean. The flavor is also of sourdough bread, with some sweet notes, and a clean finish. The finish is also semi-sweet, but that fades pretty quickly. The aftertaste is faded bread notes that do linger for a moment. This is a delicious Pilsner. It is an A+. This is a beer you can have a few of. It is a good sessionable Pilsner that I highly recommend. You can find this at Southern Spirits (https://www.southernspirits.com) and Total Wine (totalwine.com). Please stay safe, be kind to each other, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Burial Beer Co. Our Hearts of Ruin Dry-Hopped Pilsner

This Burial Beer Co. (https://burialbeer.com/?srsltid=AfmBOoqJOrM9CbYCxpAdNizGO9TiC4ofYyJeIzBK9laNMvKWXqztqEa9) beer is a dry-hopped pilsner called Our Hearts of Ruin. It is 5% ABV, mashed with Pilsner malt, and double-dry hopped with new harvest Motueka and Hallertau Blanc hops. Burial says this is a west-coast-inspired lager. This beer pours golden yellow with a three-finger head that leaves thick lacing behind. The aroma is slightly hoppy and crisp. It has a lemon and vegetable scent as well. The flavor is crips and somewhat hoppy with a sweet wine like taste. The mouthfeel is light with this beer. This beer has a dry finish that is a little hoppy. The aftertaste is also dry, but the sweet wine note is gone. This is a good beer, A from me. The hops slightly overpower the malt of this pilsner. But that does not hold this beer back that much. It is a delicious beer that is worth trying. I recommend it. You can get this at (https://www.southernspirits.com) and Total Wine (https://www.totalwine.com). Please stay safe, be kind to each other, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

New Sarum Salisbury Brewing Co.

Last weekend, I visited the Waterworks Visual Art Center in Salisbury, North Carolina, northwest of Charlotte. It is located right around the corner from the New Sarum Salisbury Brewing Co. (https://newsarumbrewing.com). After the art center, I went to the brewery. The brewery was having its ninth anniversary, and I was unaware of that. So I first had Gose the Gozarian, a sour ale at 8.0% ABV, with sea salt, coriander, HI-C punch, Chlorophyll, pineapple juice, orange peels, lemon peels, and grapefruit peels. This beer poured green. It was to be in homage to HI-C Ecto Cooler.

Once you taste this Gose, it’s a different experience. It is worth trying if you get the chance. They had various vendors and food trucks with live music. I had a small sample of Dunn Mountain cucumber, which was fantastic without overdosing the cucumber flavor. It had the right amount, making a refreshingly delicious beer. My second and last beer was Old Stone House IPA. It was a typical fruity IPA that was good but not outstanding. It is worth trying. The whole atmosphere was great and was a wonderful addition to a Saturday.

I have a few New Sarum beer reviews on here. Feel free to check them out. I really enjoy their beer and the brewery. Make a day of it and check out the Waterworks Visual Art Center (https://www.waterworks.org) and New Suram Salisbury Brewing Co. Please stay safe, be kind to each other, and enjoy responsibly! Cheers!
