Burial Beer Mystic Caravan India Pale Ale

This beer is another beer from Burial Beer. This beer is Mystic Caravan India Pale Ale, 7% ABV. This IPA has rice and Lychee fruit. Lychee is a tropical fruit that is red on the outside and white on the inside. It grows in Eastern and Southeastern Asia. This beer is a collaboration with Unseen Creatures Brewery and Blending. This IPA is double-dry-hopped with Citra, Nelson, and Topaz hops. It’s fermented with Lychee fruit, mashed with rich, and barely. This beer pours a cloudy yellow color, with a one and a half finger white head. The aroma is semi-sweet, fruity, and hoppy. The taste of this IPA is dry yet semi-sweet, hoppy, fruity, and citrusy. It has a lighter mouthfeel. It then finishes with a bitter dry flavor. The aftertaste is dry and hoppy with a citrusy flavor. Burial Beer, Mystic Caravan India Pale Ale is interesting, with rice and lychee. I give this IPA a B. The l sweetness threw it off a little, but it wasn’t the worst. This beer is good. But for an IPA, I’ve had some that are better. I would recommend this but not to the average run-of-the-mill IPA drinker. I enjoyed it, and yes, I could have more than a couple. Please be kind, be safe, and enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Burial Beer Co. Dusk Dark Lager

Dark Lager’s are one of my favorite beer styles. This dark lager here is Burial Beer Co. Dusk, 5% ABV from Asheville, North Carolina. Burial Beer uses German Pilsner and roasted malts. They also hop this beer with Tattnanger and fermented with house lager yeast. This dark lager pours a black color with t two-finger slow and sticky beige head. The aroma is of toffee, dark roasted malts, and light coffee. The taste is of coffee, toffee, lightly malted roasted flavors. So around the middle of the mouth, you get chocolate and a tootsie roll flavor. The mouthfeel is somewhat light and medium. Then this dark lager finishes with nice semi-sweet chocolate roasted flavor. The aftertaste has a slightly less sweet, but it has a roasted note of coffee and tootsie roll. Burial Beer Co. Dusk Dark Lager is a solid dark lager. I give this dark lager an A+. Dark lagers are drinkable dark beers. They are what I would consider a winter lager version of a regular lager. This one is really good as I would expect from Burial Beer Co. They always beer great beers. This Burial Beer Co. Dusk Dark Lager is one I recommend! Please be kind, stay safe, and enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Aslin Beer Co. No Backsies Hefeweizen

It has been a while since I’ve had a Hefeweizen beer. I don’t see much Hefeweizen coming from craft beer breweries. This particular Hefeweizen is Aslin Beer Co. No Backsies Hefeweizen, 5.5% ABV. This Hefeweizen is from Alexandria, Virginia. This beer pours a cloudy yellow color with a two finger bright white head. The head slowly fades as you drink. The aroma is what you’d expect from a Hefeweizen, there is banana, clove, and sweetness. The taste of this Hefeweizen is similar to its smell. There is banana and clove. There is also an orange flavor, and the beer is a little sweet overall. The mouthfeel is medium. It then finishes with a banana sweet flavor. The aftertaste is sweet lightly fruity with banana. Aslin Beer Co. No Backsies Hefeweizen is a good beer. It has a nice refreshing Hefeweizen flavor. This beer is an A. It is not a really strong full Hefeweizen flavor like you’d getting from the German breweries. It’s lighter than some. I think it is a great beer form anyone. I highly recommended Aslin Beer Co. No Backsies Hefeweizen. Please be kind, stay safe, and enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Johny Bootlegger Syndicate City Sour Peach

I would like to thank The Geloso Beverage Group LLC for sending out three flavors of Johny Bootleggers Malt Beverages. This drink is their Syndicate City Sour Peach, 12% ABV. This product is made right outside Montreal, Québec, Canada. This beverage is made with beer malts, but it’s not a beer, has a beer-like base, and it is more of a cocktail. This beverage pours a light pink color, and it looks like perfume. The aroma is of sweet peach candy. Taste is sweet and a little boozy up front, then you get some peach Jolly Rancher candy. The mouthfeel is light. This beverage finishes with a hint of peach alcohol. The aftertaste is a short lingering of fake peach. This drink is not bad, but it’s not something that you will remember the next day. It has a bit of an artificial taste to it but not bad. I give Johny Bootleggers Syndicate City Peach a low B-. I like peach flavor things, and that helps it some. This beverage is something different from beer and interesting. I don’t see these types of drinks in North Carolina. We don’t have liquor stores, just a state-run ABC store, which I find not good. Two more flavors came in a nice box with a branded flask. So please stay tuned here for more about Johny Bootleggers! Please be kind, stay safe, and enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Samuel Smith Old Brewery Nut Brown Ale

I have had Samual Smith’s Nut Brown Ale, 5% ABV many times. I’ve even had it in London, England. It hales from Tadcaster, York, England. This beer isn’t that expensive for an imported beer either. It’s usually under five dollars. I purchased this ale from my local grocery store. This nut brown ale pours brown color with a light beige three-finger head of cream. The aroma is nut and malty, with a bit of caramel sweetness. The flavor is creamy, nutty, sweet with malty flavors. The mouthfeel is medium. This ale then finishes smooth creamy with a nice caramel nuttiness. The aftertaste is creamy sweat with a malt flavor. Every time I have this, I am pleased to be drinking it. The beer flavor is well-balanced and smooth. I say Samual Smith’s Nut Brown Ale is an A+. I highly recommend Samual Smith’s Nut Brown Ale. If you haven’t had this beer or any of Samuel Smith’s beers, then you are missing out! I could have three pints of this or more without getting tired of the flavors. It is a prime example of an English Brown Ale. Please be kind, stay safe, and enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Big Boss Brewing Co. Trial Guide IPA West Coast Style IPA

I bought Big Boss Brewing Co. Trail Guide IPA West Coast Style IPA, 6.5% ABV, and 40 IBUs (International Bittering Units), from my local grocery store. This IPA is from Raleigh, North Carolina. It has Pacific Northwest hops such as Cascade, and Chinook. It also has El Dorado hopsThis ale pours a bright yellow color with a two-finger steady white head. The aroma is piney, tropical, fruity, and bitter. The flavor is bitter, piney, tropical with pineapple. Trail Guide has a bitter crispness to it. The mouthfeel is on the lighter side. Then Trail Guide finishes with a crisp pine bitterness. The aftertaste is piney with a faint pineapple flavor. This beer grew on me. The first few sips, I was questioning whether or not, I was going to like it. Well, halfway into it, I started to like it, but in the end, I found I didn’t feel as strongly as I did. I give Big Boss Brewing Co. Trail Guide IPA a low B-. It barely makes it there. I think the crispness clashes with the bitter pine, it is alright otherwise. I would have this again. Please be kind, stay safe, and enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Birdsong Brewing Co. Mexicali Stout

I have had this beer before. I just haven’t reviewed it. This beer, Birdsong Brewing Co. Mexicali Stout, 5.9% ABV from right here in Charlotte, North Carolina. It’s made with habaneros (small HOT orange peppers), cacao nibs, and local Central Coffee. I like a spicy coffee stout, so I think this could be good. This stout pours a rich black color with a two-and-a-half head of beige creamy that is very slow to fade into beautiful lacing. The aroma is of roasted coffee, sweetness, and some nice spiciness. The flavor is spicy at first, then comes the roasted coffee, and then there is some sweetness. The mouthfeel is full. This beer finish with a spicy coffee roast flavor. Then it has an aftertaste of the vegetal habanero and the spicy heat of said pepper. This stout is a great beer. The coffee flavor works well with the habanero spice. I give Birdsong Brewing Co. Mexicali Stout an A+. I a good beer from a good brewery. This stout is not a beer that when finishing a pint, you can’t go for another. I could have two pints, maybe two and a half. I highly recommended Birdsong Brewing Co. Mexicali Stout. Please be kind, stay safe, and enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

450 North Brewing Co. Slushy XXXL Marshmallow Frosty Flakes

I am getting a little tired of this fruit slushy/smoothie-style beer by this point. What I have here is 405 North Brewing Co. Slushy XXXL Marshmallow Frooty Flakes, 5.3%.b All of these from this brewery have the same alcohol by volume. This fruity beer has raspberry, orange, marshmallow, cherry, vanilla ice cream, and lime. This beer pours a purple color with a quarter finger light purple head that quickly fades away. The aroma is fruity, orange, and lime. It is also sweet yet tart. The flavor is creamy, sweet, and tart. You’ll find light raspberry, light cherry, orange, and tart lime. The lime flavor is where it starts to fall off. This beer finishes with a lime flavor. That same lime flavor then carries itself into the aftertaste and lingers. The mouthfeel is full, and it coats the mouth. I found 405 North Brewing Co. Slushy XXXL Marshmallow Frooty Flakes not as good as the rest. I give this a C-. The lime flavor tastes like it should not be there. It adds a kind of off-tasting flavor to this beer. Also, the orange was a bit strange taste too. I don’t think I’d try 405 North Brewing Co. Slushy XXXL Marshmallow Frooty Flakes. Please be kind, stay safe, and enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

450 North Brewing Co. Slushy XL Strawberry-drank

This beer may be the last one I have from this brewery. This beer is 450 North Brewing Co. Slushy XL Strawyberry-drank, 5.3% ABV. This fruited beer has strawberry, banana, strawberry-ice cream, and vanilla. This beer pours a pinkish color with a half finger of pink-ish head. It fizzy away quickly. The aroma is big on strawberries. There also is some banana, sweetness, and vanilla. The taste is also big on Strawberries, and I got banana, ice cream, and vanilla. This beer has a slight tartness to its fruity sweet finish. The aftertaste is sweet with some tartness of banana. The mouthfeel is full and thick. This fruity beer coats your mouth. I have said this about all of these beers before. I cannot have more than one. I would not go straight for this type of beer. It has a bold flavor profile. It wasn’t bad. I give it a B. The slight tart flavor at the end throws it off just a bit. This beer is more of a novelty beer. But I think it’s interestingly different and unique. Please be kind, stay safe, and enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Edmund’s Oast Brewing Company Comfy Armchair Brown Ale

I bought this beer yesterday while at my local Whole Foods. This ale is Edmund’s Oast Brewing Company Comfy Armchair Brown Ale, 4.3% ABV. This beer is made down in Charleston, South Carolina. Now I am a fan of the brown ale style of beer. In my option, I think it is a good spot between a light-colored/flavor style of beer and something darker. It’s a good gateway beer for getting into dark beers, such as porters and stouts. This particular beer pours a brown color with a one-finger off-white/beige head that sticks around for a while. The aroma is nutty, malted, with sweetness. There also is some dried fruit. The flavor is malty, nutty with a bit of sweetness. It finishes with a nutty, slight raisin flavor. Then you get a bit of malty, nutty flavor in the aftertaste. This beer is good and tastes great. The flavors are on the lighter side you get in traditional English-made brown ales. Edmund’s Oast Brewing Company Comfy Armchair Brown Ale get an A. There n too much out there that is better, a few. Samual Smith’s Brown Ale comes to mind that is just a little better than this. But I’m not saying that this is a bad brown ale. It’s good, and I recommend it! Please be kind =, stay safe, and enjoy responsibly! Cheers!
