Burial Beer Co. & CRAK Brewery The End is Never Near Session IPA Collaboration

I first had Burial Beer Co. & CRAK Brewery The End is Never Near Session IPA, 4.2% ABV on tap Pop The Top Bottle Shop, so a few days later I picked up a four pack. This is a collaborative between Burial Beer Co. in Asheville, North Carolina and CRAK Brewery in Campodarsego, Veneto Italy. The End is Never Near Session IPA is brewed with barley and oates, double dry-hopped with a bounty for Citra and Vic’s Secret. The End is Never Near Session IPA pours a hazed yellow color with a thick three finger white head that fades in icebergs and a thin halo, giving you nose sweet juicy citrus fruits, orange and grapefruit which the taste follow with citrus fruits, juicy orange and juicy grapefruit with a nice oat sweetness that has a little hoppy bitterness and finishes a little bit bitter with a nice citrus note and a bitter juicy fruit aftertaste that has a little tiny sour note on the end with a light mouthfeel. Burial Beer Co. & CRAK Brewery The End is Never Near Session IPA is easy drinking and very refreshing with great fruity flavors and just enough sweetness with the right amount of hoppy bitterness that is an A. This beer is like fresh citrus juice that I recommend you try. Cheers! Please enjoy responsibly!

Omnipollo Oaxaca Mango Margarita Slush IPA

From Omnipollo Brewing in Stockholm, Sweden, Oaxaca Mango Margarita Slush IPA, 6.5% ABV, brewed with Lactose Sugar, Mango, Lime, Grapefruit & with vanilla added. Oaxaca Mango Margarita Slush IPA pours a yellow color with a three finger steady fading white head with fruity aromas of mango, grapefruit with a nice sweet note. Oaxaca Mango Margarita Slush IPA taste has a nice similarity to the aroma with nice grapefruit and mango with a piney sweetness on the front of the mouth and on the middle with a bitterness that start in the middle of the tongue and grows as it washing to the back and finish with nice bitter fruits and piney with a bitter grapefruit, mango aftertaste and a medium mouthfeel. Ominpollo Brewing Oaxaca Mango Margarita Slush IPA was a little more bitter than I though it was going to be but still a good beer, and I give it a C+. Oaxaca Mango Margarita Slush IPA is slightly better than average but the bitter piney flavors took over the fruity sweetness muddling them a bit. The fruity flavors that I did taste weren’t bad they were just not as forward tasting or as predominant. I would have Ominpollo Brewing Oaxaca Mango Margarita Slush IPA again and yeah you should try it for yourself. Cheers! Please enjoy responsibly!

Southern Pines Brewing Company Peach Mango Thief Fruited New England IPA

I see more and more of the New England Style IPA or hazy IPA’s out there. This Southern Pines Brewing Company Peach Mango Thief New England IPA, 6.5% ABV and an IBU of 20, which is brewed in Southern Pines North Carolina brewed with loads of Lactose and oats, then dry-hopped with Azacca and Citra hops. Conditioned on Peach and Mango Purée, vanilla beans and coconut. Taste is much similar to the nose but you get the coconut and vanilla beans with you peach and mango with a little mild hop note coming in towards the back of the mouth that finishes with a nice tropical sweetness with a faint hop note that gives you a tropical aftertaste that lingers a bit with a medium mouthfeel. Southern Pines Brewing Company Peach Mango Thief New England IPA hits the nail on the New England IPA head, it’s got a really nice tropical fruit flavor with a lower bitterness and a nice flow of sweetness that make for a refreshing beer, one that gets an A. New Sarum Salisbury Brewing CO. Griffin Series Princess PeaHazy IPA

I went out to Pop The Top Craft Beer Shop for a few beers and brought back New Sarum Salisbury Brewing Co. Princess Peach Hazy IPA, 7.0% ABV & 20 IBU (International Bittering Unit)from Salisbury, North Carolina which is brewed with Blood Peaches and Lactose into what is called a Milkshake IPA. Princess Peach pours a hazy medium yellow color with a two finger white head with a sweet aroma of vanilla fruit, peaches, a nice bubble gum acidic notes hitting your nose with a vanilla bubble gum flavor upfront then slightly hoppy in the middle with a fruit peach acidic flavor come on the back as the hoppy flavor slowly grows, and finishes with a little hoppy fruity sweetness. Princess Peach Hazy IPA really surprised me with its uniquely delicious flavor, which none were out of place. Sarum Salisbury Brewing Co. Princess Peach Hazy IPA is well deserving of an A+. A really well brewed be with awesome milkshake fruitiness that is very tasty. I highly recommend trying this beer. I will come right back to this again! Cheers! Please enjoy responsibly!

Beer & Chips Paring: LateJuly Organic Jalapeño Lime Tortilla Chips and Founders Brewing Co. All Day IPA

This may seem like a Beer & Chips Pairing similar to the last one I posted, but this is LateJuly Organic Jalapeño Lime Tortilla Chips & Founders Brewing All Day IPA, 4.7% ABV. LateJuly Organic Jalapeño Lime Tortilla Chips are much like a cool ranch Dorito but with more of a slight green hue to them with a little sprinkling of spices and smell spicy with hints of lime zested on them. These tortilla chips have a mild spicy note to them up front with a nice light lemon flavor following it. Founders Brewing All Day IPA does wash way a bit of the Jalapeño spice but then in the middle of mouth the spice mixes with the hoppy flavor making a slightly more than mild spicy note that really fills your mouth then slowly fades as you sip on ALL Day IPA. This beer adds another level of spice to the Jalapeño and helping bring out the lime flavor and makes for a good pairing which receives a B. The Jalapeño flavor is mild as is the Lime flavor, but they aren’t. That holds it slightly lower but the beer adds to these LateJuly Organic Jalapeño Lime Tortilla Chips which helps bring out the intended flavors. Cheers! Please enjoy responsibly!

Wicked Weed Brewing Pernicious India Pale Ale

Picked up Wicked Weed Brewing Pernicious India Pale Ale, 7.3% ABV from the local Harris Teeter, this local brew is brewed in Asheville, North Carolina. Pernicious pours a yellow Pilsner like color with a slight hazy and a one and a half finger white head with a bitter lemon floral aroma with some grass pine faintly wafting in with a bitter taste of a slightly fruity lemony piney flavor with slime bitter hoppy notes in the middle and toward the back of the mouth with a clean finish that slowly smooth out bitter in the aftertaste that has a very light lemon flavor with a lighter mouthfeel. For a beer that 7.3% ABV Wicked Weed Brewing Pernicious India Pale Ale is easy to drink and is good getting a B+ here. I think that Pernicious could use more hops to give it the hoppy notes more of impact on you taste buds but other than that is good and you should try it! Cheers! Please enjoy responsibly!

Birdsong Brewing Company Hazy Sexy Cool IPA

Birdsong Brewing Company Hazy Sexy Cool IPA, 6.8% ABV is a New England style IPA I picked up from Pop the Top Bottle Shop here in Charlotte. Hazy Sexy Cool IPA is unfiltered and brewed with Citra, Mosaic, & El Dorado hops. Hazy Sexy Cool IPA pours a hazy orange color with a big three finger white head that sicks around giving off juicy citrus fruit aromas with some bitter notes hitting your nose. Taste its juicy with orange and some grapefruit citrus with faint pineapple with a nice fruity bitter hoppy note coming in on the back of the tongue with a nice bitter juicy citrus finish and a grapefruit orange aftertaste with some nice hoppy bitterness. Birdsong Brewing Company Hazy Sexy Cool IPA is spot on and well brewed, it’s getting an A- here. It has a little stronger boozy note that his hiding behind all the citrus flavors but that doesn’t take away anything major from this beer, it’s a goof beer, one that I recommend and will definitely go back to! Cheers! Please enjoy responsibly!

Elysian Brewing Company Space Dust IPA

I found Elysian Brewing Company Space Dust IPA, 8.2% ABV at my local Harris Teeter and wasn’t expecting to find this beer. Elysian Brewing in Seattle, Washington which has been in business since 1996 brews Space Dust with Chinook hops to bitter the beer and they use late and dry additions of Citra and Amarillo hops. Space Dust IPA pours slightly hazy orange color with a two finger white head with fruity-hoppy dank aroma wafting off the head with a slight sweet grass note then you get to a bitter flavor of some grapefruit with mild sweetness to it with some onion, dank grassy pine notes but you don’t really get the full hit of the 8.2% ABV. Space Dust IPA finishes nice with a faint sweetness and a nice bitter note with an aftertaste of bittersweet fruity onion with a fuller mouthfeel. Elysian Brewing Company Space Dust IPA is a good beer, getting a B. Now I don’t think that more than two Space Dust IPA could be had, the flavor would overwhelm your tastebuds halfway through a third, but that is not a bad thing. Lots of beers are great and are a beer that can you could only have two or three due to the strong flavors or higher ABV. I like the sweetness that compliments the bitterness in Space Dust IPA it blends well with the entire flavor profile of Space Dust. Elysian Brewing Company Space Dust IPA is a beer that I would recommend you try and one that I would definitely go back to. Cheers! Please enjoy responsibly!

Beer and Chips Pairing: Cape Cod Kettle Cooked Sweet & Spicy Jalapeño & Birds Fly South Ale Project The Blueprint IPA

The Cape Cod brand of potato chips has been around for as long as I can remember and these are Cape Cod Kettle Cooked Sweet & Spicy Jalapeño which I paired with a recent beer review Birds Fly South Ale Project The Blue Print IPA 6.5% ABV. Now for future reference if you are going to have spicy food and you’d like to have a nice beer with it you can’t go wrong with an IPA. These Sweet & Spicy Jalapeño chips look much like your average chips but with little bits of green Jalapeño bits sprinkled on top T.he hops in this fruity IPA, The Blueprint complements the sweetness that hit you tongue quickly upfront then the hops do cut the Jalapeño spice in the middle which then the fruitiness of the beer blends nicely with the spicy finish of these Cape Cod chips. The hops profile of an IPA does blend well and keep the spiciness of spicy food down a bit. This was a good pairing a B+, the sweetness was minimal and there was more of the Jalapeño flavor they than anything else but was still good and went nicely with Birds Fly South Ale Project The Blue Print IPA, which is a great IPA. Cheers! Please enjoy responsibly!
