Sunny Monkey is part of Victory’s Monkey beer. This is a Belgian Sour with Coriander and Guava that is brewed here in Charlotte. This beer is 4.5% ABV. This sour beer pours a slightly hazy yellow with a three finger white head. The aroma is tropical fruity with some sweetness & spices. The taste is tropical guava fruit, sweet with spices. The beer is overall a light feeling beer. This beer has a sweet tropical finish that is bright and refreshing. The aftertaste is the same as its finish but with an additional tart spice note. This Sunny Monkey is an A. I recommend this Sunny Monkey beer. It is a easy drinker and refreshing. It is not overly tart or sour. It has the right amount. Please stay safe, be kind to each other, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Westmalle Trappist Ale Tripel

This imported beer is Westmalle Trappist Ale Tripel from Malle, Belgium. It is 9.5% ABV and imported by Merchant Du Vin in Tacoma, Washington. This import company is owned by the Pike Brewery. Westmalle Tripel is brewed by Trappist Monks, and their beer sales go towards charity. This Tripel Ale pours a golden apple juice color with a light haze. This beer has a two-and-a-half white finger fluffy head. The aroma of this beer is fruity, sweet, strong, and malty. The flavor is fruity (bananas-like), sweet, strong and malty. The beer flavor is not too strong. This beer has a fuller mouthfeel. Then this ale finishes with a boozy, fruity flavor. Then comes the aftertaste of malts, fruit, and some boozy. The aftertaste lingers for a short bit, then it’s gone. This is a good beer, one that I give an A. The Belgians really know how to beer good beer. This one is almost as good as Chimay Tripel. I recommend Westmalle Tripel. Please stay safe, be kind to everyone, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Brouwerij Van Steenberge Piraat Belgian Ale

Piraate Belgian Ale, a Belgian Strong Golden Ale (similar to Duvel), is another from Brouwerij Van Steenberge mixed six-pack. Piraate translates to Pirate. This beer comes in at 10.5% ABV. This ale pours a deep orange/golden color with a fluffy three-and-a-half-finger white head. The aroma is strong, sweet, boozy, and malty. The flavor is also strong and boozy. It is also fruity, sweet, and malty. The mouthfeel is full but just slightly full. Then this ale finishes with strong, malted, boozy, and sweetness. Then the aftertaste of fruity malts comes in and lingers for a few seconds, then fades away before you take your next delicious sip. This ale is good, and it gets an A. The first two from this pack I had were better even though they are different beer styles, and it is just as good as Duvel Beer. It doesn’t taste like 10.5% ABV, but it does taste strong. It has a good flavor balance. Piraat is a delicious beer that I highly recommend. Please stay safe, always be kind to everyone, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Brouwerij Van Steenberge Monk’s Cafe Grand Cru

This beer from Monk’s Cafe Grand Cru is another beer from the Brouwerji Van Steenberge mixed six-pack. This beer is a sour or Flanders Oud Bruin (Old Brown). This Oud Bruin is 5.5% ABV. This beer style is from the Flemish region of Belgium. This beer has aged for up to a year. This beer style then undergoes secondary fermentation, which takes several weeks or months. Then bottle aged for several more months. Monk’s Cafe Grand Cru pours a deep/dark brown with a three-finger fluffy beige head that slowly fades. The aroma is sour, tart, fruity, sweet, and bitter. The flavor of this beer is close to the way it smells. There is sourness, fruity, tartness, acidic notes, and some sweetness. The mouthfeel is on the high side of medium. It does light coat the mouth. Then this beer finishes with a tart, sour, and sweet flavor. Then comes an aftertaste that is fruity, tart, lightly sweet, and sour. This Grand Cru is good and goes down easy. I give Monk’s Cafe Grand Cru an A+. This beer is delicious. It has a very well balance of tasty flavors. This beer would go very well with soft or semi-soft cheeses. It has just enough of each flavors. I highly recommend Monk’s Cafe Grand Cru! Please stay safe, always be kind to everyone, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Brouwerij Van Steenberge Augustijn Blonde

Finding this was the best! I found a mixed six-pack of Brouwerij Van Steenberge beers. It has six of each.I found it at Reeds Fine Food here in South Park. This brewery is in Evergem, Belgium. This beer is Augustijn Blonde. It comes in a 7.0% ABV. Augustijn Blonde pours an amber blonde with a two-finger white head. The head slowly fades away. The aroma is fruity, strong, and malty from the grains. This ale has some hoppy notes. The flavor is lightly sweet, fruity, and malted (the same grains). There is a vanilla flavor and some light hops. The mouthfeel is medium. Then this blonde finishes with a light, malted fruit flavor. Then you get an aftertaste of slightly sweet malts and a light, hoppy flavor. This ale is a very delicious Belgian Blonde ale. I give this an A+. I would not pass this one. I highly recommend it. It’s just a good and balanced Belgian blonde. It is refreshing and full of great flavor. I will bring you more from the Brouwerij Van Steenberge mixed six-pack, so stay tuned here! Please stay safe, always be kind to everyone, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Ceria Brewing Company Grainwave Alcohol-Free Belgian-style White

Keeping dry January going, we have another non or alcohol-free beer. This beer is Grainwave. It is contract brewed by Abita Brewing Company in Abita Springs, Louisiana. That means that Ceria comes up with the recipe, and Abita brews their beer. Gainwave has Bloof Orange peel, coriander, and Hallertau Traditional hops. This beer pours a cloudy yellow with a bright white two-finger head that is quick to fade. The aroma is sweet from the peels of a blood orang. There are also light spice notes. The taste is also blood orange sweet with hints of coriander spice. I also found tartness on the back of my tongue. The mouthfeel is medium. Then this beer finishes with sweetness and lighter blood orange. This beer is big on the blood orange and tastes more like a fruit juice beverage than anything else. I would give Grainwave a C. It’s not a Belgian-style white, but it’s trying hard to be one, a non-alcoholic one. I would probably go back to this and would recommend it too. It was refreshing too! Please be kind, stay safe, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Westmalle Tripel

I have never seen this at my local Harris Teeter Supermarket before. Well, the other day, I saw this on the refrigerated end cap.. So naturally I bought a bottle. This beer is Westmalle Tripel, and it’s 9.4% ABV. This authentic Trappist Ale, is from Malle, Belgium. This ale is brewed by the Trappist monks at Westmalle. This beer pours a deep gold color with a big four finger thick white head. It’s slowly fades into thick lacing. The aroma is fruity, sweet, and there is a big of clove spices. The taste is fruity , spiced with clove, malt flavor, candy sugar, and slight bitterness. The mouthfeel is light. Then this beer comes to a fruity spiced finish. Then comes an aftertaste of clove and bitter fruit. This beer is an fine example of a Trappist Tripel Ale. But I now I find that Chimay is just the slightest bit better. I give this an A-. I would still recommend this. Please be kind, stay safe, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

The Bruery Mischief Hoppy Belgian-Style Ale

This ale is a 2016 Great American Beer Festival gold medal winner, a 2015 SD international Beer Festival gold medal winner, and a 2018 Great American Beer Festival bronze medal winner. This award-winning beer is Mischief Hoppy Belgian-Style Ale, 8.5% ABV from The Bruery in Placentia, California. This ale pours a golden color with a two-finger fluffy white head. It gives off pears and citrus fruits with a hoppy, pepper spice. The taste is fruity with pear, melon, citrus, peppery, and hoppy notes. It has an alcoholic flavor to it. It becomes apparent as it warms. The mouthfeel is medium and crisp. This beer then finishes with a pepper hops note with fruit. The aftertaste is hoppy but not like an IPA, just enough hop. It has a fruity aftertaste as well. This ale was a great example of an American Belgium-style ale. I give Mischief Hoppy Belgian-Style Ale an A+. All of the flavors are on point and tasty. I highly recommend this ale. Please be kind, stay safe, and enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Unibroue La Fin Du Monde Belgian Style Triple Ale

Unibroue La Fin Du Monde Belgian Style Triple Ale, 9% ABV is brewed in Chambly Quebec Canada which is an off-island suburb of Montreal. The Uniborue was purchased by the Sapporo Brewery in 2006 after being bought by Sleeman Breweries LTD in 2004. Now that you’re r up to speed on what I consider to be one of the best breweries, especially for Belgian Style Ale. La Fin Du Monde (End of the World) pours a golden orange color with a two finger thick white slow head. It eventually fades into a little white island in the middle. The aroma is sweet, fruity and spiced. The taste is fruity with orange and some banana. There is a yeast quality to it flavor, as well a spiced noted. The mouthfeel is full, and thick. La Fin Du Monde finishes with an effervescence, because this ale probably has more than normal carbonation. There is a fruity yeast flavor in the finish as well. The aftertaste is just spiced fruit with hints of the yeast. It does linger quite awhile. I’ve had the many times before and might have reviewed it ages ago, but this is still good as always. Unibroue La Fin Du Monde Belgian Style Triple Ale is an A. Yes it is strong at 9% ABV but most Belgian Triples are. The flavor does a great job of taking the bigger alcoholic flavor and mitigating them. I highly recommend this one for sure. It never gets old and you can certainly have more that two pints of this without the flavor killing your tastebuds. But the alcohol content may get you first. That worth it for such a taste beer. Please be kind, be safe, and enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Stella Artois Brewery Stella Artois

Stella Artois Brewery Stella Artois a Lager brewed in Leuven Belgium is a common lager beer that you find at the grocery store or from wherever you buy beer. This beer has been brewed since 1366. Stella pours a clean clear gold color with a.one finger bright white head that fades at a steady pace. The aroma is metallic and sweet with a breaded biscuit note. It’s not the best smelling beer, it smells like average generic beer. The taste is metallic and sweet with a bit of sharpness to it There are some crisp notes with a biscuity flavor. Stella Artois’ flavor is nondescript where you right down to it. The mouthfeel is light. It has a weird finish of the tank it was brewed it. The after taste is well nothing. I did not mind this, but I also didn’t like this. I’d say that Stella Artois Brewery Stella Artois is a D. It’s not as bad as some of the BMC beers (Budweiser, Miller, Coors, It’s not that much better. I would choose Steall Artois over those if those were my only choices. Plus there is so much better beer from Belgium to be had than Steall, like Duevl for example. So if you haven’t had Stella Artois already then don’t try this. Please be kind, stay safe, and enjoy responsibly! Cheers!
