Westmalle Tripel

I have never seen this at my local Harris Teeter Supermarket before. Well, the other day, I saw this on the refrigerated end cap.. So naturally I bought a bottle. This beer is Westmalle Tripel, and it’s 9.4% ABV. This authentic Trappist Ale, is from Malle, Belgium. This ale is brewed by the Trappist monks at Westmalle. This beer pours a deep gold color with a big four finger thick white head. It’s slowly fades into thick lacing. The aroma is fruity, sweet, and there is a big of clove spices. The taste is fruity , spiced with clove, malt flavor, candy sugar, and slight bitterness. The mouthfeel is light. Then this beer comes to a fruity spiced finish. Then comes an aftertaste of clove and bitter fruit. This beer is an fine example of a Trappist Tripel Ale. But I now I find that Chimay is just the slightest bit better. I give this an A-. I would still recommend this. Please be kind, stay safe, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!
