Westbrook Brewing Co. Festbrook Wiesn-Style Gold Lager

This beer, Festbrook from Westbrook Brewing Co. in Mt. Pleasent, South Carolina, is a Wiesn-style golden lager with CTZ, dry-hopped with Hallertal Mittelfruh hops, German Lager yeast, Munich, Pils, and Vienna malts. This beer is 6.5% ABV. This beer, according to the brewery, is great for drinking by the masses. This feist beer pours golden with a two-finger white semi-quick fading head. The aroma is sweet, with light banana, wheat, and malt. The flavor is malty, sweet, clean, dry, light banana, and light bodies. The mouthfeel is light. This beer finishes with a lightness that is dry with some sweetness. The aftertaste is refreshing with light semi-sweetness. This beer is so delicious and deserving of an A+. I always enjoy Westbrook Brewing beers, and this one is no different, and you shouldn’t miss out on this October seasonal. Please stay safe, be kind to each other, and remember to enjoy responsibly!

Hopfly Brewing Co. Our Time Lager

This is Our Time Lager from Hopyfly Brewing Co., and it is in association with Carolina Ascent FC (Football Club), a women’s soccer team in the USL. I purchased this 4.5% ABV beer at Hopfly here in Charlotte. This beer pours gold with a barely two-finger white head. The aroma is of cereal grain, sweetness, and some bread notes. The flavor is crisp, and the cereal gains light cereal grains and some light white bread. It doesn’t smell like white bread. The mouthfeel is light and crisp. Then, it finishes with a slightly crisp grain flavor and a crisp semi-sweet aftertaste. Lager doesn’t have a great deal of bold flavors. But this one came close. I’d say this is a B+. A solid, delicious, and refreshing beer that is easy to drink and smooth. But for the Hopfly Brewing Co., the taproom has lots of plants, cocktails, and beer. The whole place/taproom gets a B-. I’d recommend going to their taproom and having Our Time Lager. Please stay safe, be kind to each other, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Tripping Animals Dark No Mames

This Dark Lager from Tripping Animals in Doral, Florida, is Dark No Mames, a dark version of No Mames Lager. This beer is a 6% ABV year-round beer. I have never had a beer from Tripping Animals, so this is a first. This dark lager pours dark with a two-finger beige head that quickly fizzes down to a one-finger head. It slowly fades from there. The aroma is nutty, roasted, and malted. The flavor is crisp for a dark lager, and it’s nutty, roasted, and malted with hints of faint coca. I do not think chocolate or cocoa is used to brew this beer. This has a light to medium mouthfeel. Then, it has a malty, roasted, crispish finish. The aftertaste is a malted, roasted, nutty flavor. This is a good beer that a few could be had before the flavor started to overwhelm your taste buds. That means, yes, you should be drinking this A-graded beer. So far, Tripping Animals beer(s) are good. I will try more. Please stay safe, be kind to each other, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Rogue Ales Mom Beer Wheat India Pale Ale

Mom Beer from Rogue Ale in Newport, Oregon, a 6.3% ABV wheat IPA with Oregon Rose Hips. You rarely see a Wheat IPA, but this one pours a light orange with a one-finger white head. The aroma is floral, bitter, and light on wheat. This smells like a floral IPA. The flavor is like a normal IPA with bitter notes, and then you come across malt, floral, and wheat notes. This bee has a smoothness to it. The finish is floral and bitter. The aftertaste is smooth and bitter with a bit of a floral note. This Mom Beer is okay. The rose hips don’t add anything interesting here, but the wheat does, and it gets a C. It’s OK, average. I wouldn’t recommend this, and I would. It is one of those beers if you have it or pass on it, either way, it’s okay. Please stay safe, be kind to each other, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Stone Brewing Enjoy By 10.31.24 Hazy IPA

This Hazy IPA, Enjoy By 10.31.24, is part of Stone Brewing’s Enjoy By series of IPAs. They put the expiration date right in the name of the beer. This beer is 9.4% ABV with a heavy helping of Citra, Mosaic, and Nelson Sauvin hop. I have never had a Stone Enjoy By beer. This is my first, but I’ve had my fair share of Stone beers. This beer pours a hazy orange with a one-finger white head. The aroma is tropical, citrusy orange, hoppy and bitter. The flavor is smooth, light-bodied, tropical, citrusy, and hoppy. This has a light to medium mouthfeel. Then, this beer comes to a bitter citrus finish. The aftertaste is bitter citrus as well, but it does end smooth. I didn’t find this IPA to feel like it was 9.4% ABV. I give Stone Enjoy By 10.31.24 a B. Solid hazy IPA with good fruity flavor without being overly strong and aggressive. I recommend that you try this beer. Please stay safe, be kind to each other, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!
