Johny Bootleggers Sing Sing Sour Grape

This is the last of the Johny Bootleggers malt beverages that I received. This is Sing Sing Sour Grape, 12% ABV. This is the same Alcohol by volume percent as all the other flavors that came from Laval Québec Canada. This pours a dark candy purple color. This grape beverage has a fake sweetness of fake grape candy aroma. The taste is similar to its smell. There is a fake sweet, candy grape flavor that is not the worst flavor. I also found that it isn’t sour at all. I don’t know what their Idea of sour is, but that’s not sour. This grape beverage tastes like fake grape candy. The mouthfeel is light. It then finishes with a grape sweetness and not much on the aftertaste. There is a sugary flavor for an aftertaste. This Sing Sing Sour Grape from Johny Bootleggers was not the worst of the three. I give this one a D+. It has more of a fruit flavor to it than the Alcatraz Sour Apple, which had a chemical taste to it. This one is just fake grape candy. That gave it a few points. The best was the Syndicate City Sour Peach. But I wouldn’t rush out for that one or any of these. All of these aren’t the worst I’ve ever had, and I don’t think they are disgusting. Burial Beer Mystic Caravan India Pale Ale

This beer is another beer from Burial Beer. This beer is Mystic Caravan India Pale Ale, 7% ABV. This IPA has rice and Lychee fruit. Lychee is a tropical fruit that is red on the outside and white on the inside. It grows in Eastern and Southeastern Asia. This beer is a collaboration with Unseen Creatures Brewery and Blending. This IPA is double-dry-hopped with Citra, Nelson, and Topaz hops. It’s fermented with Lychee fruit, mashed with rich, and barely. This beer pours a cloudy yellow color, with a one and a half finger white head. The aroma is semi-sweet, fruity, and hoppy. The taste of this IPA is dry yet semi-sweet, hoppy, fruity, and citrusy. It has a lighter mouthfeel. It then finishes with a bitter dry flavor. The aftertaste is dry and hoppy with a citrusy flavor. Burial Beer, Mystic Caravan India Pale Ale is interesting, with rice and lychee. I give this IPA a B. The l sweetness threw it off a little, but it wasn’t the worst. This beer is good. But for an IPA, I’ve had some that are better. I would recommend this but not to the average run-of-the-mill IPA drinker. I enjoyed it, and yes, I could have more than a couple. 450 North Brewing Co. Slushy XXXL Marshmallow Frosty Flakes

I am getting a little tired of this fruit slushy/smoothie-style beer by this point. What I have here is 405 North Brewing Co. Slushy XXXL Marshmallow Frooty Flakes, 5.3%.b All of these from this brewery have the same alcohol by volume. This fruity beer has raspberry, orange, marshmallow, cherry, vanilla ice cream, and lime. This beer pours a purple color with a quarter finger light purple head that quickly fades away. The aroma is fruity, orange, and lime. It is also sweet yet tart. The flavor is creamy, sweet, and tart. You’ll find light raspberry, light cherry, orange, and tart lime. The lime flavor is where it starts to fall off. This beer finishes with a lime flavor. That same lime flavor then carries itself into the aftertaste and lingers. The mouthfeel is full, and it coats the mouth. I found 405 North Brewing Co. Slushy XXXL Marshmallow Frooty Flakes not as good as the rest. I give this a C-. The lime flavor tastes like it should not be there. It adds a kind of off-tasting flavor to this beer. Also, the orange was a bit strange taste too. I don’t think I’d try 405 North Brewing Co. Slushy XXXL Marshmallow Frooty Flakes. Please be kind, stay safe, and enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

450 North Brewing Co. Slushy XL Strawberry-drank

This beer may be the last one I have from this brewery. This beer is 450 North Brewing Co. Slushy XL Strawyberry-drank, 5.3% ABV. This fruited beer has strawberry, banana, strawberry-ice cream, and vanilla. This beer pours a pinkish color with a half finger of pink-ish head. It fizzy away quickly. The aroma is big on strawberries. There also is some banana, sweetness, and vanilla. The taste is also big on Strawberries, and I got banana, ice cream, and vanilla. This beer has a slight tartness to its fruity sweet finish. The aftertaste is sweet with some tartness of banana. The mouthfeel is full and thick. This fruity beer coats your mouth. I have said this about all of these beers before. I cannot have more than one. I would not go straight for this type of beer. It has a bold flavor profile. It wasn’t bad. I give it a B. The slight tart flavor at the end throws it off just a bit. This beer is more of a novelty beer. But I think it’s interestingly different and unique. Please be kind, stay safe, and enjoy responsibly! 450 North Brewing Company XXXL Slushy Wake -n- Bake

Happy New Year to everyone. I hope you had a good one. This beer, 450 North Brewing Company Slushy XXXL Wake -n- Bake, 5.3%, is the first beer review of the new year. It is made with pineapple, peach, dragonfruit, banana, kiwi, and watermelon. It pours a thick, headless, yellow color. The aroma of this beer is sweet, juicy, tropical, fruity. I got pineapple, dragonfruit, and light kiwi. The taste is sweet and fruity. There is tropical pineapple, light peach flavors, kiwi, and dragonfruit. The mouthfeel is thick and full. It then finishes with a slight tropical tart fruity flavor. The aftertaste is big on the pineapple. I think this slushy fruity beer style is a novelty thing. I mean, I don’t see myself going for more than one of them. It is very fruity and sweet. I give this 450 North Brewing Company Slush a B-. It’s thick and sweet with a load of fruit by the end, it overpowers your tastebuds. But I would go as far and say it terrible. Please be kind, stay safe and enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Kings Brewing Co. Fros’e Peach Passion Colada

The fruit smoothie types/styles of beer are becoming popular, and I think they are untraditional, different, and something new to the beer drinker. This particular beer is Kings Brewing Co. Fros’e Peach Passion Colada, 7% ABV. This beer comes from Rancho Cucamonga, California. I haven’t heard much about this brewing, nor have I had any of their beers. This beer pours a thick cloudy yellow color, with white foamy clumps floating up top. The aroma is sweet and fruity. There are vanilla and peach notes. The taste is peachy, and vanilla. I don’t get any other flavors. The mouthfeel is thick and full. But not as thick as some similar beers. It then finishes with a peach flavor and faint vanilla. The aftertaste is fruity and sweet. That flavor lingers until you take another sip. Kings Brewing Co. Fros’e Peach Passion Colada is a B+. There weren’t a lot of different flavors, and that helped. Some of these smoothie-type beers have too many flavors, and that can overwhelm your tastebuds. This beer did none of that. This beer flavor was just a vanilla peach. I recommend this! 450 North Brewing Co. & CLAG Brewing Co. Slushy XXL Slushy Charms

This beer is a collaboration between two breweries. This beer is 450 North Brewing Co. and CLAG Brewing Co. Slushy XXXL Slushy Charms, 5.3% ABV. CLAGG is in Sandusky, Ohio, and 450 North Brewing in Columbus, Indiana. It’s made with double marshmallow, orange, mango, lemon, graham cracker, cream cheese, oats, & vanilla. This beer pours a thick yellow-orange juice color with no head The aroma is fruity with orange, and mango. There is some graham cracker and vanilla sweetness. The taste is big citrus, tropical fruits such as orange, lemon, mango. There is sweetness from the vanilla, marshmallow, and graham cracker. The mouthfeel thick and full. It then has a sweet pastry finish. The aftertaste is sweet and fruity. Flavor lingers for a bit. These types of pastry fruity-type beers need to be had fresh. They can go bad after a short while. I found this beer good, but he had a lot going on. I give 450 North Brewing Co. and CLAG Brewing Co. Slushy XXXL Slushy Charms a B. I found most of the flavor to be good, but the lemon seemed like it was faint and like it was out of place. But it was good overall. Now I would not have more than one of these, because it is thick and has many flavors. I finished this beer, but I wasn’t wanting another one. Imprint Beer Co. Schmoojee Sugeree Co.

I have not had many smoothie fruit sour beers. But they sound interesting enough to try for review. This beer comes from Hatfield, Pennsylvania is Imprint Beer Co, Schmoojee Sugaree Colada, 6% ABV. This fruity beer has Mango, coconut, pineapple, lime, and cherry. This beer pours a thick yellow color with no head. The aroma is tropical with mango, pineapple, and a hint of a lime smell. The taste is a sweet and tropical fruit. There is some light coconut and big pineapple, mango, and lime. There is a cherry flavor too. The mouthfeel is thick and full. This colada coats your whole mouth. It finishes with tart cherry, lime flavor, and tropical notes. The aftertaste isn’t as tart as the finish, but it is tropical tasting. Imprint Beer Co, Schmoojee Sugaree Colada is not so bad, but it needs more sweetness. I’d give this a C+. It is average, but it is also very different from your typical beer. The tropical flavors are good, but the lime flavor gives it a bitter tartness that seems out of place. I wouldn’t go for this right off the bat, but it might be good on a really hot day. 450 North Brewing Co. Slushy XXL Crispie Cream

My local craft beer shop Pop the Top Bottle Shop had an event where 450 North Brewing came down from Columbus, Indiana, with a few of their beers. So they had some to sell, and that’s how I came across 450 North Brewing Co Slushy XXL Crispie Cream, 5.3% ABV. This beer has blueberry, glazed donuts, lemon, and Bavarian cream. It is also a part of their XXL Slushy series. This beer pours a thick dark purple color with a thin one-finger white head. The head fades quickly. The aroma is sweet. I found blueberry aromas, with a hint of tartness from the lemon. The taste is much like a glazed jelly donut. There is sweet blueberry with creamy notes of the Bavarian cream. it has a tart lemon finish with a full mouthfeel. It coats your entire tongue with good flavors. There is a lemon, creamy aftertaste that lingers just a bit. 450 North Brewing Co Slushy XXL Crispie Cream is a neat beer. This is one that is an A+. it does taste like a donut. Birdsong Brewing Co. Key Lime Kölsch

I don’t know how many things are in the world that are key Lime flavored, but Birdsong Brewing has made one called Key Lime Kölsch, 4.3% at 40 IBU (International Bittering Units). This is a seasonal beer offed late summer. It’s has Key Limes and Vanilla with malts such as 2-Row, Dextrin, Flaked Oats, and Branch malt. It also has El Dorado hops. This Kölsch pours an orange color with a thin one finger fizzy clear white head. It quickly fades. The aroma is sweet with a citrus lime. The flavor is sweet from the lime upfront and then you get a sweet graham cracker like flavor with a bit of vanilla toward the back of your mouth. The mouthfeel is light. It finish like a piece of Key Lime pie. That same finish carries on over to the aftertaste and does linger for just a second. This beer grew on me. The more I drank the more I enjoyed it. I’d give Birdsong Brewing Co. Key Lime Kölsch a B. I was very similar to Key Lime pie, which I like and if you like it too then this beer is for you!
