Hopfusion Ale Works Feisty Redhead

The beer I have today is Feisty Redhead, a hibiscus cherry blonde from Hopfusion Ale Works. This blond beer is from Ft. Worth, Texas, and is 8.67% ABV. This Feisty Redhead has Orange Blossom Honey, raw Piloncillo (an unrefined whole cane sugar used in Mexican cook & baking. It has a caramel taste similar to molasses or brown sugar), Mexican vanilla aged on hibiscus & cherries. This beer sounds complex and interesting. This beer pours a red likecolor with a one and a half finger of white head that is quick to dissipate. The aroma is sweet, tart, fruity (big cheery), and floral. The flavor is big on the cherry. The cherry is more of a syrupy flavor than real cherries. The flavors are sweet (honey & cherry), tart, and faintly floral. The mouthfeel is syrupy and medium feeling. Then this beer finishes with a tart cherry syrup flavor. Then it turns into an aftertaste of tart fruit syrup then fades into a faint honey note. This beer sounded better than it tasted. I give this Feisty Redhead a D. The cherry tastes fake and syrup-tasting and clashes with the tart flavors, which are faint at best. This beer leaves you with a cough syrup aftertaste. I don’t recommend you try this unless you are one of the few that likes cough syrup. Please stay safe, be kind, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Gilde Brewery Pilsner

This beer is a traditional Geman Lager Pilsner from Gilde Brewery that dates back to 1546. This brewery is in Hannover, Germany. But they have a relatively new location here in Charlotte, North Carolina. This pilsner is 4.9%. This location is a beer hall and is the United States and probably the rest of North America’s import office. This beer is from Hannover. This beer pours a golden color with a two-finger white head. The aroma is sweet, with bread (biscuits) and light malts. The flavor is also bread, biscuits, light hops, and sweetness. The mouthfeel is light. Then this pilsner beer finishes nice and clean with crisp bread light, sweet flavor. This beer has a light bitter/sweet aftertaste that doesn’t linger. I am a big pilsner fan, and this is a solid delicious pilsner. I give Gilde Brewery Pilsner an A+. The flavor is slightly lighter than some pilsners have had, and that’s good. It makes for a more drinkable/approachable beer. I highly recommend this German Pilsner. It’s tasty stuff. Please stay safe, be kind, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Revelry Brewing Highly Tangible Session India Pale Ale

This beer is Highly Tangible. It is a session India Pale Ale directly from Revelry Brewing brewer in Charleston, South Carolina. It is 5% ABV, with Tangerine & Nectarine. This beer pours a bight, cloudy yellow with some fruit bits floating in it. It has a two-and-a-half finger white head. The aroma is fruity and lightly bitter. The taste is of juicy tangerines/nectarines, bitterness, and a light tart note on the back of the tongue. The beer’s flavor is also dry. The mouthfeel is somehow light/medium. Then this IPA comes to a fruity dry bitterness. Then you come to an aftertaste that is also dry. But less dry with some tangerine and nectarine flavor. This beer is a delicious fruity/juicy IPA. I give Highly Tangible Session India Pale Ale an A. The only negative about this beer is that the fruity flavor becomes slightly too much by the end. But it is good otherwise. The flavors all go nicely with each other. I also found this IPA refreshing and not overly hoppy or bitter. I could have a few of these, and I think you should too. Please stay safe, be kind and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Goose Island Beer Co. Christmas IPA

This beer is a little late for review. But when you buy new beer, the older beers end up in the back. This beer is Christmas IPA from Goose Island Beer Co. This Chicago beer is 7,5% ABV. It has Northern Brewer, Chinook, Mandian, and Cashmere hops. This beer also has 2-row, C-20, and Debittered black malts. This IPA pours an amber color with a two-finger beige head. The aroma is piney and bitter, and there’s cinnamon. The flavor is malt, and piney. There’s cinnamon, and it’s hoppy too. The mouthfeel is fuller. This IPA finishes with a bitter spice. The aftertaste is lightly cinnamon with a bit go bitterness. This IPA is a nice change. Because it’s not like all the IPA out there. It is more like a traditional IPA with some Christmas flavors. I give this Chairman IPA from Goose Island Beer Co. a B-. I am not a big fan of cinnamon, and it is okay/not great here. It has good bitterness that plays well with the malt flavor. I would recommend this beer, and I would have it again. Please stay safe, be kind, and remember to be responsible! Cheers!

Four Peaks Brewing Co. The Joy Bus WOW Wheat

This Wheat beer called The Joy Bus WOW IS FROM Four Peaks Brewing Co. In Tempe, Arizona. This beer is 5% ABV. This wheat beer is a year-round beer. This wheat beer pours a bright yellow color, with a one-and-a-half-finger white head. The aroma is citrusy orange and sweet, and there is wheat. The taste is citrusy orange light banana, sweetness, and light on wheat flavors. This beer is not a Hefeweizen. The mouthfeel is light. Then this beer has a big orange finish with some sweetness. Then you’ll come to a light seat/orange aftertaste that fades away quickly. This beer is more orange tasting than anything else. This wheat beer is good, but I have had some better wheat-styled beers. So I give this beer a B. The bold orange flavor is good and doesn’t completely overwhelm the other flavors. It does mute the wheat flavors but not in an awful way. I recommend The Joy Bus WOW wheat. It’s good and refreshing. Please stay safe, be kind, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers! !

Maine Beer Company Little Whaleboat India Pale Ale

Little Whaleboat India Pale Ale, from Main Beer Company, is named after three islands (Little Whale Boat, Nate, & Tuck). They are located in Casco Bay. These islands and ledges are protected by the Maine Coast Heritage Trust. This IPA is from Freeport, Maine, and is 6.5% ABV. This beer pours a cloudy yellow color with a three-finger fluffy white head. The aroma is of tropical fruit (mango & pineapple), citrus fruit, and bitterness. The flavor is lemon, grapefruit, mango, pineapple, and mango. The mouthfeel is smooth and light. Then this IPA finishes with a soft tropical and citrus flavor. Then you get an aftertaste of smooth, delectable fruits with some bitterness. This beer is a very tasty IPA. I give Little Whaleboat an A+. I highly recommend it. It has all the go fruity bitter IPA flavors. It is drinkable. I don’t think it feels like it is 6.5% ABV at all. Also, this beer does drink/taste like it is more expensive than eight dollars. I found this at my local grocery store, and I don’t see any Maine Beer Company products anywhere. If you see this, don’t hesitate to buy it! Please stay safe, be kind, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Goose Island Beer Co. Neon Beer Hug IPA

Neon Beer Hug is an IPA. It is part of a small series of beers called Beer Hug. This Neon Beer Hug is 7% ABV. There are two other Beer Hug beers besides this one. I have one other Hazy Beer Hug. I will review that beer soon. This beer comes from Goose Island Beer Co in Chicago, Illinois. This beer has Nugget, Sultana, Citra, Mosaic, and Eureka hops. This beer pours a yellow color with a two-finger white head. The aroma is bitter, hoppy, and sweet (citrusy sweetness). The flavor is also smooth, citrusy sweet, malty, and hoppy. The mouthfeel is lighter. Then this beer finishes with a bitter, hoppy, fruity flavor. Then you come to an aftertaste of bittersweet, hoppy, malty, and fruity. This beer was slightly .ess than I was expecting, so I give Neon Beer Hug a B+. It was not bad. It was thAt I was expecting more citrus and a fuller mouthfeel/body. But it was still good. I would go for this beer again, and I would recommend it as well. It has all the good things that a nice IPA should have. Please stay safe, be kind, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Golden Road Brewing Christmas Cart

I know it’s a little late for Christmas beer or early, depending on how you look at it. But I forgot about this recently. This beer is Christmas Cart from Golden Road Brewing in Los Angeles, California. This beer is 6%ABV and is part of the many different Cart beers. I have previously reviewed their Mango Cart. This beer is a wheat beer with cherries and spices. This beer pours a deep pink/red color with a one-and-a-half finger of off-white head. The aroma is of spices, cherries, tartness, and some light wheat notes. The taste is also cherry, spices (light cinnamon), tartness, and a little wheat. The mouthfeel is on the lighter side. Then this Christmas Cart finishes with a spice tart what notes. Then you get an aftertaste that gives you a Christmasy feeling. That is spiced cherry. This beer grew on me as I drank it. I give it an A. I can find nothing wrong with this Christmas Cart. Yes, I think you should try it. It is a good Christmas beer without being overly spiced and heavy. Christmas time can be food and drink heavy. Please stay safe, be kind, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Shiner Trail Ale

This beer from Shiner, Texas, is a brown ale with chocolate, nuts, and dried fruit. This ale is brewed by Shiner beer in the Spoetzl Brewery. This beer was sent to me by KLG Public Relations. This ale is a relatively new beer from Shiner. This ale pours a deep brown color with a two-finger foamy beige head that slowly dissolves. The aroma is sweet, chocolaty, and nutty. The flavor is similar to its scent. With chocolaty sweetness, and nutty notes, it’s also salty, and there’s a bit of cherry. The mouthfeel is slightly fuller. Then this brown ale finishes with a nutty and semi-chocolaty flavor. Then you come to an aftertaste of salty, nutty chocolate flavors. This beer is interesting to me. I give Trail Ale. B-. All the flavors lean on the lighter side, and I think a brown ale shouldn’t, especially one with a nutty chocolate flavor. But that’s all I really can say negatively about this Shiner beer. I would recommend trying it. Please stay safe, be kind, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Elysian Brewing Company Spilt Shot Espresso Milk Stout

Split Shot from Elysian Brewing Company is an espresso Milk Stout. It has Lactose and Stumptown Coffee. This beer form in Seattle, Washington. It is 6% ABV. You can probably see the entire top of the beer can is gone. A product called Dtafttop (http://www.draftTop.com) was sent to me. Drafttop is a cutting device that can turn any drink can into a drinking glass. It works by lining it up with the pull tab, then rotating it counterclockwise, allowing the Drafttop to lock the pull tab. Then you turn it clockwise as you press in on the sides of the Drafttop, which cuts into the can top. Then after about one and a half clockwise rotations, you have successfully removed the top of the can. This product is a neat little novelty item, is a conversation starter, and works well when you read the instructions. Split Shot pours a black color with a two-finger cream tan head. The aroma is sweet, with coffee notes, roasted, and some bitterness. The taste is sweet with roasted coffee. The scent of this beer is also creamy, sweet, and smooth. The mouthfeel is full but not heavy. It does coat the mouth. Then it has a nice sweet roasted finish with a smooth coffee aftertaste. There is a tiny bitter note in the aftertaste. This beer is a good coffee milk stout. I give Spilt Shot an A-. I like more of a roasted coffee flavor on these types of beer, and Split Shot had a nice average coffee roast flavor. It was good, but I’d like a little more. Overall it was good, and yes, I would recommend it. Please stay safe, be kind, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!
