New Holland Brewing Dragon’s Milk Tales of Gold Bourbon-Barrel-Aged Golden Ale

This beer, a strong golden ale From New Holland Brewing, is Dragon’s Milk Tale of Gold Bourbon-Barrel-Aged Gold Ale. This Ale is made in New Holland, Michigan. This is a year-round beer made with milk sugars. This ale comes in at 11% ABV. This beer is part of the Dragon’s Milk beers. This beer pours a deep orange/light copper color with a one-and-a-half-finger white head. The aroma of this beer is sweet, vanilla, malty, and boozy. The taste is sweet from the vanilla and milk sugars. This beer has a smooth, creamy, and malty note. The mouth feels medium. Then it has a sweet malted finish. Then you get a boozy sweet aftertaste. The aftertaste has a light malt flavor that tastes faded. Dragon’s Milk Tales of Gold is not what I was expecting. I thought this beer would be strong and have a more bourbon-like flavor. This beer drinks well for 11% ABV, smoother than some beers with the same ABV. I give this bourbon-barrel-aged beer a B+. The vanilla was a bit sweeter than some barrel-aged beers. It took over the flavor profile. I would recommend New Holland Brewing Dragon’s Milk Tales Of Gold Bourbon-Barrel-Aged Golden Ale. Please stay safe, be kind to everyone, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Radeberger Gruppe Radebeberger Pilsner Zwickelbier Hazy

This imported beer from Redeberger, Germany, is Redeberger Pilsner Zwicklebier Hazy. This is produced by the Radeberger Gruppe. This beer is a Kellerbier/Zwicklebier style and is a love 4.8% ABV. This hazy Zwickelbier is unfiltered and served exclusively at select accounts in the U.S.A. This beer is still fermenting while it’s being canned. This Pilsner pours a hazy, bright yellow with a three-and-a-half finger white head that slowly fades into decent-looking lacing. The aroma is light lemon, sweetness, light bread notes, and some hoppy aromas. The flavor is light, clean, happy, somewhat beady, and sweet. The mouthfeel is lighter. Then this beer finishes with a light, hoppy and sweet flavor. Then you get a nice light hopped aftertaste with a faintly sweet fruit flavor. This is a delicious beer. I give Radeberger Pilsner Zwickelbier Hazy an A. The bitterness is just a little off but doesn’t keep it from tasting delicious, and from me recommending it. This is how traditional German beer is supposed to taste. Please stay safe, be kind to everyone, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Heat Ray from Edmund’s Oast Brewing Company is an India Pale Ale with Kveik Yeast. Kveik Yeast is an ancient yeast formed from several strains, some Naturally produced over many years. This IPA pours a bright yellow with a big four-finger white head that fades steadily. The aroma is of light sweetness, tropical fruits, and a bitter note. The taste is tropical fruits like mango, pineapple, and tangerine. There is a bit of light sourness and some bittering notes. Then this IPA comes to a bitter tropical fruit finish. Then you come to an aftertaste of tropical fruit bitter/sour notes and light yeast notes. This Heat Ray IPA is a good beer; I give it an A-. I didn’t find this beer to be a farmhouse IP, it was more like an IPA with interesting flavors. But it was good otherwise. I recommend this Heat Ray IPA. Please stay safe, be kind to everyone, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Ponysaurus Brewing Co. Bière De Garde

I have only had one beer from Ponysaurus Brewing Co. That was a long while ago. This is Ponysaurus’ Bière De Garde, which means beer to guard. This beer is 6.3%. This is from Durham, North Carolina. This strong pale comes from the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region of France. This beer has three types of barley, wheat, and rye. This beer pours a golden color with a three-and-a-quarter-finger white head. The aroma is pear fruit, sweet, light, and some faint vanilla. The flavor of pear fruit, sweetness, light boozy notes, light vanilla, and light spices. There is a lightness to the mouthfeel. Then this beer finishes with a spiced sweet pear. Then you come to an aftertaste of faint fruity pear with a lightly spiced note. This Bière De Garde is okay, but not great. I give this beer a C. I didn’t dislike this beer. I just found it to be not that exciting for this type of beer. I have had a few Belgian examples of this and found them to be much better. It seems like, Ponysaurus is trying to make a light version of a Bière De Garde. That kind of hinders it from being a good beer. Please stay safe, be kind to everyone, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Lagunitas Brewing Company IPA

This beer from Lagunitas Brewing Company of Petaluma, California, is called IPA. That is exactly what this beer is. This IPA is 6.% ABV. This IPA pours a light copper/gold color with a one-and-a-half-finger white head. The aroma is many, sweet, bitter, and hoppiness. The flavor is onion, malts, sweetness, bittering notes, and some hoppy flavor. This IPA is strong yet smooth. Then this IPA finishes smooth, strong, and bitter. Then you get a bitter aftertaste that is not overly bitter. I miss IPAs like this one from Lagunitas Brewing Company. Most of the IPAs are fruity and bitter. I like those, but after having so many, I miss the malty English-style IPA. This IPA is a B+. I would like to have a little more hop flavor and some more bitterness. But it was delicious! I would recommend this IPA! Please stay safe, be kind to everyone, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Dssolver Brewing & Hoofhearted Brewing Cold Caprese Pizza Italian-Style Pilsner

Today’s beer is Cold Caprese Pizza Italian-Style Pilsner. This beer is a 5.1% ABV collaboration between Dssolver Brewing in Asheville, North Carolina, and Hoofhearted Brewing in Marengo, Ohio. This beer has Riverbend Pilsner Malt, Hallertauer, Mittelffuh, and Pacifica hops. This Pilsner pours a yellow color with a two-finger fizzy white head. The aroma is soft, dry, hoppy, and sweet. The flavor is hoppy, sweet, light, and dry. There are some lightly breaded notes. The mouthfeel is bright. Then this Italian-style Pilsner finishes with a light, hoppy, and dry flavor. Then you get an aftertaste of dry and light bitterness. This is a good beer that is on the hoppy side for most Pilsners. That is a characteristic of an Italian Pilsner. This beer was good, and it’s a B+ from me. The dry and bitter flavors don’t combine well. That’s keeping this beer at a B+. It’s good otherwise, and I would suggest you try Cold Caprese Pizza Italian-Style Pilsner. Please stay safe, be kind to everyone, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Collective Arts Brewing Galaxy 2 Ways NEIPA

This beer is Galaxy 2 Ways from Collective Arts Brewing. This beer is named because of the Galaxy and Galaxy Spectrum hops in this New England India pale ale (NEIPA). This IPA is 6.6% ABV. This bee is from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. This beer pours a bright yellow with a three-finger pillowy/fluffy white head. The head doesn’t seem to fade at all. The aroma is juicy, fruity, pineapple, citrusy, bitter, and bright. The flavor is juicy pineapple, citrusy, spruce, bitter flavor, and slightly earthy. The mouthfeel is medium. Then this IPA comes to a nice bitter, tropical, citrusy finish. Then you get an aftertaste of bitter citrus, pineapple, and light spruce. This beer is so delicious, and it gets an A+. This beer is the third I’ve had from Collective Arts, and I like this brewery. I recommend this beer. It has all the good fruity bitterness you want from this NEIPA. It’s not overly bitter. It has just the right amount. This Galaxy 2 Way is balanced NEIPA. Please stay safe, be kind to everyone, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Co-op Dragonfruit Frosé

I don’t usually post Frosé on a Tuesday, but here we go. This beverage is Dragonfruit Frosé from Co-op, a Charleston based Frosé bar and restaurant. They recently add a Southend Charlotte, North Carolina location. A neighbor of mine who works there brought this. This Frosé is 14% ABV. Frosé is frozen Rosé wine with fruit flavor added. This beverage is pink, with fruity wine aroma with a light sour note. The Frosé flavor is cold, lightly bitter, fruity, boozy and slightly tart. It has a medium mouthfeel. The boozy notes coat your mouth but just for a moment. Then you get a slight tropical fruit flavor with a bitterness. It is probably from the Rosé wine. This drink is good on a hot day, but it goes down easy, and at 14% ABV, and is a dangerous combo. This Frosé isn’t what I usually drink, but it was pretty tasty. I would give this Co-op Dragonfruit Frosé a B. It does have a wine bitterness there, but otherwise this is pretty solid. You should head over to Co-op and try one. Please stay safe, be kind to everyone, and remember enjoy responsibly! Cheers!
