North Coast Brewing Co. Old Rasputin Russina Imperial Stout

I have seen Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout by North Coast Brewing Company everywhere good beer is sold. I haven’t had this beer from Fort Bragg, California, until now. This stout has won 15 different awards over many years. This year-round beer is 9% ABV. This stout pours dark and black with a one-finger tan head. The aroma is dark, roasted coffee, bitterness, and chocolate. The flavor isn’t far off from the aroma. It is bitter, chocolatey, roasted coffee, with a slight earthiness. The mouthfeel is full and rich. It finishes with a roasted, bitter chocolate and coffee. That all fades into a bitter aftertaste. This is a good Russian Imperial Stout; it gets an A. Overall, the flavors are mild but good. It would get better if the roasted coffee and chocolate notes were a bit stronger. I would definitely recommend Old Rasputin, and I’d have this again. Please stay safe, be kind to each other, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!
