Chimay Cinq Cents, 8% ABV, from Baileux, Belgium is a Tripel and is otherwise known as Chimay White, because of its white label. I purchased this from my local Harris Teeter grocery store here. This is a Trappist Ale, brewed by Belgian monks. This Tripel pours a golden color with a four finger thick creamy white snowy head that has slow retention. The aroma is fruity with banana and some yeasted notes The flavor is also banana fruity with nice amounts of effervescence and some cloying yeast flavors. The mouthfeel is medium and has a nice strong but fruity finish. The aftertaste of some light fruity yeast does not stick around for long. Chimay Cinq Cents is a fabulous beer and is well-deserving of an A+. It is a true example of a Belgian Tripel. If you haven’t had this beer then you are missing out. I highly recommended having Chimay Cinq Cents. Please stay safe and enjoy responsibly! Cheers!
