I was getting a lot of social media advertisements about this beer recently. It did sound like a great beer that I would like to try. So I was out at my local Winestore and spotted Captain Lawerence Brewing Co. & Snyder’s of Hanover Snyder Bier Pretzel Märzen, 5.0% ABV. This beer, a collaboration between Captain Lawerence Brewing Co. in Elmsford, New York, and Snyder’s of Hanover pretzel snack company, is owned by Lance here in Charlotte, North Carolina. This October-fest style beer pours a copper/light brown color with a two-and-a-half finger off-white head. The aroma is malty, bread, semi-sweet with a salty note. The taste is a malty, salt, bead, a richness like Snyder’s October fest dark pretzels. This beer then finishes with a malted medium salted. The aftertaste is very similar to the aftertaste of Snyder’s October fest pretzels. This beer is a very delicious beer and a great combination. I give Captain Lawerence Brewing Co. & Snyder’s of Hanover Snyder Bier Pretzel Märzen an A+. It’s like being at Octoberfest without actually being there. It’s Octoberfest in a can. I highly recommend it! It’s not a beer that overpowers your tastebuds. I could have an entire four-pack of sixteen ounces. I hope that this beer will be here every year. It’s that good!
