Allagash Brewing Co, in Portland Maine is one of the best breweries on the east coast and this is Allagash Brewing Co. Fine Acre Organic Golden Ale, 5.5% ABV. This beer has an all-organic malt bill. The golden ale style originated in Belgium and is quite popular in Belgium, Europe, and the United States. Fine Acre pours a cloudy golden yellow color with a three-finger bright white head that slowly dissipates. The aroma is somewhat sweet with a nice light lemon and banana. Fine Acre has a sweet and dry flavor, yeast notes, banana, very faint lemon, and a bit of malt. The mouthfeel is all most full, and this beer finishes with a light dry sweetness that carries on into the aftertaste. As usual for Allagash Brewing Co. Fine Acre Organic Golden Ale is pretty good, but I still think Duvel Belgian Golden Ale is the best. I give this particular golden ale a B. This is a solid example of the Golden Ale style. It does have a bit of heavier mouthfeel and flavor than some golden ales, and this one is not as high in alcohol as some either. But I enjoy this one and you should too! Please stay safe and enjoy responsibly! Cheers!
