Made localy in Charlotte, North Carolina by Sugar Creek Brewing, (https://sugarcreekbrewing.com) The Big O is a 7% ABV Blood Orange IPA. This IPA has California grown “Moro” blood oranges along with dry-hopping, specialty toasted malts, Citra and Mosaic hops. You can find this beer where ever beer is sold in the Charlotte area (www.totalwine.com). This IPA pours orange with a two-finger white head. The aroma is big on the orange. It is almost like bitter orange candy. The flavor is orange, fruity, grapefruits, bitterness with small sweet notes. This has a medium mouthfeel. Then it has a bitter orange finish that lingers in the aftertaste with a good amout of bittering notes. This bee is on the heavier flavored side of things. So it has a nice pungent bitter orange like its name. I give The Big O an A-. It does have a little more boozieness on this but that is not so bad. That is a common ABV with craft IPAs. I would recommend this beer if you love bitter oranges. Please stay safe, be kind to each other, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!
