Trappist Zundert 10 Jubileum

This Quadruple ale is 10 Jubileum from Trappist Zundert in Zundert Netherlands. This is a Trappist brewery where monks brew beer. This 10th-anniversary beer is only for purchase at Zundert’s gift shop. However you can purchase their beer here in the United States, they are imported by Murchent DuVin. I had Zundert’s quad while touring the Belgian Trappist breweries with Belgian Beer Me! tours. I think this iteration of their quad is just cellared longer than the regular quad, but I could not find any information. This quad pours a dark/deep brown with a one-finger beige head. The aroma is coffee-like, dark, malty, licorice, and full. The flavor is coffee-like (light on the coffee), dark, malty, and licorice, with a light smokey note in the back of the mouth. The regular quad had more of a pronounced smokey note than this. The mouthfeel has a fuller feel. This quad finishes with a full-body, malty, and dark finish. The aftertaste is of malty licorice. Zundert 10 Jubileum is very good, with an A+. Something that you should have if you are in Zundert’s neighborhood. It is a smoother version of an excellent Quadrupel Ale. Brewery Verhaeghe Duchesse De Bourgogne

This sour Flemish Red Ale is Duchesse De Bourgogne from Brewery Verhaeghe. This Ale is produced in Vichte, Belgium, and is 6% ABV. The beer is matured in serval barrels from a blend of young and old beer. This beer pours a deep red/brown color with a one-finger light beige head. The aroma is sour, fruity, and sweet with some alcohol. The flavor is tart, sour-ish, fruity (cherry-like), and smooth. The taste is reminiscent of light-flavored cherry cola. This beer has a light feeling in the mouth. Then it has a smooth tart and fruity finish. The aftertaste of fruity tart flavor does not linger for long. This beer is delicious and on that is A+. I think this is well-blended and something not to be missed. No flavor is off and/or out of place. I also found this to be refreshing. I hope you do as well. Brauerei Ayinger Bavarian Pils

This beer imported by Merchant DuVin is Bavarian Pils from Brauerei Ayinger. This beer is brewed in Aying, south of Munich, Germany. They have been brewing beer since 1878. This Pilsner is 5.3% ABV. Ayinger uses aromatic hops from the Hallertau region of Germany in this highly fermented (bottom-fermented) beer. This Pils pours golden with a one-finger light white head. The aroma is sweet, bready, light, and floral. I think the hops in here are giving that floral smell. The flavor is sweet, floral, dry, clean, and light-bodied. This has a light feeling in the mouth. Then it finishes clean and dry with a dash of sweetness. The aftertaste is clean with less of a dryness. Nothing really sticks around in the aftertaste. This beer is a better version of all the domestic macro pilsners. This Bavarian Pils is a B. Ayinger has brewed a very easy-to-drink beer with this Pilsner.
