Here, Weiz Not Hefeweizen from NoDa Brewing Company, coming in at 5.0% ABV, from Charlotte, North Carolina. This beer is made German Pilsner Malt, and German Malted Wheat. This Hefeweizen pours a cloudy yellow color with a five finger creamy white head. The head fades slowly. The beers aroma is banana, clove, and malted wheat. The taste is cream with banana, clove, light sweetness, and the flavor is crushable. That means it is goes down quick and easy. The mouthfeel is on the heavier side. Then this Hefeweizen finishes with a banana and clove flavor. Then comes the sweet banana creamy aftertaste. Most traditional Hefeweizen are heavy feeling. This is not as heavy feeling, but still hefty. It’s a great beer, and I think this Weiz Not Hefeweizen deserves an A+. I could have a few of these, but I would feel this beer too heavy on the stomach. But still a great summer Hefeweizen, and one I’d highly recommend.
