I haven’t reviewed and dark-style beer in a while. So I saw Boulevard Brewing Co. Early Riser Puerto Rican Style Coffee Porter, 6.2% ABV with 40 International Bittering Units or IBUs. This particular coffee porter uses coffee from Gusto Coffee Company in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This porter pours the deepest, darkest brown with a four-finger thick creamy beige head. It’s slowly fading. I still saw a good it down to the bottom of the glass. The aroma roasted like a strong espresso with a little burnt note. The taste is similar to the way it smells. There is a strong espresso roasted note with an acidic flavor. The mouthfeel is a little fuller. This porter finished much like a good strong cup of coffee would. It ends roasted with full coffee bean flavors. The aftertaste is pretty much a roast coffee affair. This beer is just like a good strong cup of coffee in beer. I like that in that in a coffee porter. I give Boulevard Brewing Co. Early Riser Puerto Rican Style Coffee Porter an A. It was not heavy in any way, and I could have another. But if it were a pint, I wouldn’t say I’d go for another. 12 ounces in just right for this beer. It is a good coffee porter. Please be kind, be safe, and enjoy responsibly! Cheers!
I recently heard about Boulevard Brewing! I bought a 12 pack of their Pale Ale. Very good stuff!

It’s a good brewery, a bit underrated in my opinion.
