Burial Beer Under the Fangs of a Feast of Possibilities West-Coast India Pale Ale

One of my favorite breweries, Burial Beer, brews a beer called “Under the Fangs of a Feast of Possibilities.” This West Coast IPA is brewed in Asheville, North Carolina. It uses a simple grain mash, boiled, hopped, and whirlpooled with Amarillo, Strak Idaho 7, and Mosiac hops. This beer is double dry-hopped with Strata, Riwaka, and Amarillo Cryo hops. Burial usually uses a lot of hops in their IPAs. This IPA pours a clean, golden color with a two-finger, white head. The aroma is bitter, crisp, and hoppy. I found a faint strawberry scent. The flavor is bitter and crisp (sort of). This has a creamy feeling in the mouth. The finish is hoppy and has a strange crispness that isn’t that good. The aftertaste is less bitter than the initial flavors. This beer is okay at first, gets better, and ends not great. Under the Fangs of a Feast of Possibilities is overall anlokay beer that I give a high D+. I finished this thinking that I could be better. It changed too much as you took a sip of it (like a rollercoaster of good and not good flavors). The crisp flavor up front was a bit weird and didn’t really meld with the bitterness. I would try this one. It was just okay. Please stay safe, be kind to each other, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Hi-Wire Brewing Cooler Nights ipa

I bought Hi-Wire Brewing (hiwirebrewing.com) Coller Night ipa from Total Wine (totalwine.com). This beer is a Neighborhood Series 6.5% ABV West Coast-Style IPA, with Citra, Chinook, & Columbus hops. This IPA pours a bright yellow with a two-finger, fluffy white head. The nose of this beer has bitterness, hoppy notes, and light pine scents. The flavor is resinous, bitter, and hoppy, with a grassy/piney flavor. There is a slightly off note on the back ot the tongue. This beer has a medium feel in the mouth. The finish is bitter and hoppy, much like most beers of this style. The aftertaste is slightly fruity but muted and bitter. This IPA tastes much like all the other West Coast-style IPAs. I give this a Cooler Nights ipa a C+. It’s barely getting that grade. I found this IPA not different enough from every other IPA. But it was not terrible. It has decent bitter/hoppy flavors. I feel that the craft beer market has too many IPAs. I like IPAs. It’s just that they have been popular for so long, craft beer drinkers are tired of them and want something different. I will continue to enjoy IPAs. I would not rush out for this one. Please stay safe, be kind to each other, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Burial Beer There is Only Perception Where Fate Once Laid West Coast Style IPA

This West Coast-style IPA, with an incredibly long name, is from Burial Beer (burialbeer.com). There is Only Perception Where Fate Once Laid is 7.3% ABV. This IPA uses a triple saturation process with oats. It is whirlpooled with Incognito and cryo. It is double dry-hopped with hand-selected Citra, Idaho 7, and Vic Secret hops. This IPA is finished with Citra Cryo hops. I bought this beer from a nearby Fresh Market. This IPA pours a bright yellow with a three-finger, bright white head. The aroma is piney, dank, and bitter, with a cereal note. The flavor is clean, piney, bitter, and dank. There is a Slight creamy texture, and I tasted cereal grains. This has a medium feel in the mouth. The beer then comes to a clean, bitter finish, that ends with a hoppy pine aftertaste. This beer has a lot going on, like most Burial Beers, but all the different ingredients work together to make this IPA an A+. You should be drinking Burial Beer, especially this one. Everything comes together perfectly to make a great beer. Please stay, be kind to one another, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Royal Bliss Brewing Co. Cali King West Coast IPA

I have been ‘exploring’ some of Royal Bliss Brewing Co. beer recently; this is the last of the four I bought a while ago. This is Cali King West Coast IPA. This IPA is 6.8% ABV from Denver, North Carolina (Lake Norman). Royal Bliss was Lake Norman’s best brewery last year and they are nominated again this year. So go to their website and vote for them. This IPA pours yellow with a two-finger somewhat steady fading white head. The aroma is piney, and bitter, with light fruit. The flavor is piney, bitter, hoppy, clean, and smooth. This has a coating mouthfeel. Then this IPA finishes with with bitter pine. This has a. pleasant bitter aftertaste that lingers right until you take another sip. This is a good example of a delicious West Coast IPA. Cali King gets an A. I don’t think Cali King should be missed. I really love Royal Bliss Brewing Co. Their beer is good. Royal Bliss is one of my top breweries. I am going to try more of their beer shortly. Please stay safe, be kind t each other, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!

Burial Beer Co. A Disease of Virtuous People West-Coast India Pale Ale (Dream Candy Edition)

Burial Beer Co. is one of my favorite, if not my favorite breweries. This is Burial Beer Co. A Disease of Virtuous People West-Coast India Pale Ale (Dream Candy Edition). This IPA is Whirlpooled with Cryo. Double dry-hopped with Simcoe, Riwaka, and Cascade, is 7% ABV. Burial stirs in a little Dream Candy. This means they had a little marijuana while this beer was being made, I’m guessing from what I found on the side of the can and the Burial website. This IPA pours yellow with a two-finger white head. The aroma is piney, tropical, sweet, and clean. The flavor isn’t far from its aroma. This beer tastes bitter, piney, tropical fruits (a little bit of melon), breaded, sweet, and clean. The mouthfeel has a light creamy feel. Then this IPA finishes clean, with a bit of sweet bitterness. The aftertaste is faint tropical fruits with a nice bittering note. The faint tropical flavor fades as the bitter notes linger. This, A Disease of Virtuous People West-Coast India Pale Ale (Dream Candy Edition) is very delicious and gets an A. Don’t miss out on this Burial Beer. It has a wonderful piney bitter and tropical flavor that is refreshing and good. Please stay safe, be kind to each other, and remember to enjoy responsibly! Cheers!
